I love to experiment with the different ways to tie a shawl so that I can take a few ways and make them my trademark. A shawl is one accessory that no woman can do without. It can enhance a woman's look, outfit and overall appearance. Many of my friends wear shawls of different colors to express their moods. There are many experts out there who are always willing to give you tips on different ways to tie a shawl. I, too, am considered an expert but I teach people and then leave it up to them to select tying styles that they prefer. Here are some different ways to tie a shawl. Each way is simple and easy. You can learn to tie your shawl in a jiffy.
The hood style is quite popular among ladies who are constantly on the go and are afraid that the wind or breeze will mess up their hair. I love to tie my shawl in this style because it is easy, practical and elegant. All I need to do is to drape the shawl around my head and then crisscross the ends over my shoulders.
The Ascot style is suddenly popular because many celebrities are seen sporting it. I have worn the Ascot style for years long before it became a fashion statement. All I did was loop the shawl in half, wrap it around my neck and then slip the ends through the loop and tighten the shawl. I usually tie my shawl in this style when I am using cashmere, silk or Pashmina shawl.
My personal favorite is the evening wrap style where I just take my shawl and drape it elegantly around my shoulders. I sometimes use a shawl clip to fasten the shawl in front or I just leave the ends loose.
