Digital Phone Recorder - Advantages
There is undoubtedly many uses of a telephone recorder, from having record of important conversations for legal purposes, to simply being able to replay and recall with perfect clarity what was said. However, what are the advantages of having a digital phone recorder over a cassette recorder? The following is a look at the advantages of a digital phone recorder over other options:
The first and most obvious advantage is that digital is how the world is moving. This means that using a digital phone recorder is going to be more compatible with other areas of your life. When you use a digital phone recorder you get the benefits that come with the digital world, such as convenient storage, convenient sharing, convenient reproduction, higher security, and more.
Another advantage of using a digital phone recorder is that the files created can be converted to a number of formats, and sent across the digital world. For example, a conversation could be emailed as an attachment to an attorney. A private investigator could send you an audio file over email and never tip anyone off that they are working with you because you would never have to meet face to face. Depending on the recorder you purchase, the conversion of files, transfer, download, etc. could be very easy. Some recorders can record the audio directly to your PC. This means one of the biggest advantages of a digital phone recorder is how easy they are to use, both in installing them to record information, and retrieving the information as well.
When you choose a cassette tape recorder instead of a digital phone recorder, you have the problem of having to store the tapes when they are filled. Obviously a cassette tape is small, and does not take a lot of storage, but with a digital file instead you get many advantages. For one, you can more easily organize the recordings. You can title the files and store them in convenient folders, labeled appropriately on your computer. When you are in search of a specific conversation, instead of rifling through a stack of cassette tapes you can do a computer search or look through a list of folders all conveniently located on your hard drive.

The next advantage of digital over a cassette recording is simply how easy it is to reproduce a digital file and retain the same quality of sound. If you were to try the same with a cassette, chances are you would hear a great deal of static. However, with a digital phone recorder you can make a back up copy, and store several copies of important recordings anywhere you want. You can share the file without losing it. Whereas, if you were to share a cassette, you would be physically sending the recording, not just a copy of it, and to retain it for yourself you would have to make another physical copy.
While you may find that a cassette recording can be secured by locking it somewhere, or placing it somewhere, a digital file can be even safer. Instead of a physical lock to break, you can use a pass code or encryption to keep it safe.
Like many areas of improvements in technology, there are several benefits of using a digital phone recorder over a cassette tape recorder.

Jeff - I agree! You can turn the tables back on them. Instead of hearing the message that your phone call may be recorded for training purposes (which we all know is really because they want to cover their a**) you tell THEM that you're recording this call... You'll get better customer service for sure!!
This looks like a great tool to help with any business you might be into and i always forget things so this will definatly help

What a great device! Pefect for interviews over the phone, or for other professionals. But what I think I could use if for is when I talk with cell phone companies, electric company, etc. I have been ripped off before by the sales agent making a promise and not following through. With this cool tool, I can have evedince of our conversation.
