The spread of technology has unquestionably made things easier- and sometimes a bit complicated. The invention of computers, seen as a huge milestone, opened new doors for uncontrollably more inventions. Gadgets after gadgets sprouted like mushrooms, offering to make possible a seemingly impossible list of tasks.

Not soon after the invention of modern computers, digital scanners came out. Digital or Image scanner is a device that digitizes an image for input to a computer. Simply put, this input device scans a concrete document and converts it to a digital image for editing. This process, called digital image processing is opposed to analog image processing and poses more advantages over the latter.

Types of scanner

  • Flat-bed

-this scanner makes use of CCD (charge-coupled device) technology. This means that in a flatbed scanner, images are read through an array of light sensors; their charges amplified and then converted to voltage, and are then digitized and stored to memory.

-if you’re planning to buy a scanner for home-use, this type of scanner is the most suitable.
