Digital Photography - A Hobby Or A Passion

Are you looking for a new hobby? Something fun, affordable and easy to do in your spare time? Then why not trying your hand at digital photography? It's the new form of photographic technology and is slowly pushing photographic film out of the picture! Easy enough or anyone to try, digital photography only requires a point and click digital camera with at least 3.2 mega pixels and a computer! Just think, you could be the photographer at the next family get together and you can capture those precious moments that you can enjoy for a lifetime.

There are many advantages of digital photography over conventional photography. You can immediately review every photo you take and instantly delete or retake a photo if it inst to your liking. You no longer need to buy expensive film for your camera, just a set of batteries from time to time. As well as taking still photos, just one press of a button and you can be using the same camera to make a video! No to mention that as soon as you take a photo you can immediately upload your photos to the Internet and post them on your favorite social networking site, or you can just print photos using a standard printer with optional photo paper! I don't know about you, but I think digital photography blows away traditional photography!

Although digital photography is impressive, it isn't without it's faults. The photos don't degrade or damage over time like normal film photos, but outdated camera software can alter or corrupt colors. Particular kinds of photo files like a peg can become outdated or just not used anymore in the future. The digital format can also sometimes cause image noise or small off-color spots or blotches when upon editing can affect image quality. Not to mention hauling around extra pairs of batteries which can sometimes be a bit of a burden.

Around 2002 digital cameras started to increasingly outsell photographic film cameras. This also leads to less of a demand and an increase of prices for photographic film cameras, film and accessories. As of 2007, Konica Minolta has ceased to produce color film and apaer around the world. This truly shows that digital photography is becoming the preferred style of photography by amateur and professional photographers alike. We live in a digital and technological age, so why are you still taking pictures with film? It's almost 2010, so why don't you update your camera and update your hobby by purchasing a brand new digital camera?
