Geeze, this is why I always do research and follow my intuition before I take anything; I prefer herbs when it makes sense to use them. About 5 years ago, I broke my elbow and was prescribed Vioxx for the swelling and pain; I did research and found the potential dangers disturbing, so I didn't take it even I had spent almost $100.00 for a few pills; I asked for an alternative medication and got it. A year later, Vioxx was taken off the market.

Thanks - herbal remedies are sometimes unknown quantities too although I personally tend to favour them.

Thanks for the great information. I had posted the news about the recall on my site as well. For all those who read this type of information and say thats why herbal medications are safer, they do not understand the process. With prescription medications, you have a safety net and a system in place to monitor when something does go wrong. Herbal medications are often unregulated and unmonitored.

It is such a help for people taking prescription medications when the word gets out quickly. Thanks for being there with the news.

I found out by letter on friday May 9th. why isn't it out there on the news channel? not everyone uses the internet, but most everyone watches the news.I am angry that it took over a week for me to find out about my heart medicine recall! I watch the news everyday and never heard about the recall.
