If you want to take your family to a nice resort on a nice lake in the forest of North central Wisconsin, and still be able to get in some good challenging disc golf on the side, Sandy Point resort is the place for you.

Sandy Point resort is located on Squaw lake, a 785 acre lake in Minocqua Wisconsin which is about 25 miles from Rhinelander. The resort has 2 large fishing docks, swimming, basketball, horseshoes an indoor rec room, and a screened in fish cleaning house. The lake has very little boat traffic because it is not on a chain of lakes. Squaw lake is about 3 miles long and 1 mile wide. Squaw lake has good fishing for Muskie, Walleye, Northern Pike, Crappies, and Small Mouth Bass. The resort is also the home of the Wisconsin Disc Golf hall of fame. See website here.

The resort has 7 cabins for lodging. The cabins range from Karibu, which has 2 bedrooms, A living room and dining room area. A bathroom, and a screened porch overlooking the lake. There is also a tv, vcr, and dvd player in the living room area. This cabin cost $525 per week or $85 per night. The biggest cabin is the Big House, with 3 bedrooms and a fold out bed in the living room. Also with Tv, vcr and dvd player. a large dining area, and large kitchen. The course is 24 holes measuring 6118 feet in length. This course is not very long, but it is very challenging. There are many technically difficult holes in the woods with some very narrow fairways. The course is $5 to play. The reviews I've read all say the course is beautiful and challenging.  Sandy Point hosts the Northwoods open each year. The tournament is a level A/B pro tournament that is held the first week in September.

This is a nice getaway if you like to boat, fish, swim, and especially play disc golf. If you have another couple to go with and split the cost, this trip is fairly inexpensive.
