Originally a creation of J.M. Barrie, from his 1904 children's play Peter and Wendy, Tinkerbell was remade by Walt Disney in a number of media, from a live actress at L.A.'s Disneyland attraction, to the popular animated cartoon Peter Pan in 1953, and most recently in new C.G. format as Disney Fairies.

Tinker Bell in the world of Disney, is second only to Mickey Mouse. She is "a symbol of 'the magic of Disney." has made appearences in TV commercials and opening credits sprinkling her magic pixie dust with her wand across the screen.

Tinker Bell has been featured as a hostess many Disney programes, starting with Disneyland (the theme park) to Walt Disney Presents, Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color, and The Wonderful World of Disney.

'Tink' also made a cameo for Who Framed Roger Rabbit, at the end credits, and has done 'guest roles' with other Disney characters like Chip 'n Dale, and in printed form in Disney comics. Most recently an animated full-length movie starring Tinkerbell was released on Blu-Ray and DVD on October 28, 2008.
