District 9 starts off as a mock documentary about the alien spacecraft that brokedown over johannesburg. The aliens aboard the craft were then placed in "District 9" - a segregated compound. A rather nerdy pencil pusher is put in charged of evicting the alien residents of the district 9 slum, in order to place them in a new camp that is presumably worst than the one the are already in. He accidently comes across alien bio-technology that changes his life, and brings him closer to the aliens. District 9 starts off average/slow but by the end it turns into a action packed adventure filled with special effects. I though District 9 was awesome, and I wouldnt even mind seeing it a second time (Or even more). This movie is definitely a 4 out of 5 stars.

 District 9 was produced by Peter Jackson, directed by Neill Blomkamp and written by Neill Blomkamp and Terri Tatchell.  Sharlto Copley plays the part of Wikus van de Merwe, a government bureaucrat who is working hands on to relocate the aliens from District 9.  On the surface it is an  science fiction, action drama, but if you dig deeper you will see that it a exploration into racism.   There are some humourous moments along with action and the feel of a buddy movie as Wikus van de Merwe becomes involved, and friendly with the aliens.
