Is the rise in vaccinations the cause in the rise in Autism? Not likely. Autism is a brain development disorder. The most noticable side effects are a lack of or inappropriate social communication and repetative behavior. Autism has a strong genetic link. Studies show that autism has a strong genetic basis, with the possibility of some environmental factors.
Even though the rates of vaccinations and autism have increased over the years, this only shows correlation, not causation. For example, most diet food is eaten by people who are overweight. Does this mean that diet food causes weight gain. Of course not. One of the most famous examples of correlation used recently is the correlation between global temperature increase and the decrease in the number of pirates. Does the lack of pirates cause global warming, of course not. Think about it. In the same time period as the increase in autism, we have also had a decrease in second-hand cigarrette smoke. Does this mean the smoke reduces the likelyhood of autism?
So why has there been an increase in autism? Better diagnosis. First, you have to remember that there is no test for autism. No blood test, no MRI, no X-ray. Autism is diagnosed simply by the display of autistic symptoms like lack of speech or repetative behavior. In recent years doctors have been getting better at diagnosing ausism, most likely do to the increase in parent groups and public awareness. Today, anytime a child has a slightly abnormal symptom, a parent can find out lots of potential causes on the Internet. Is there a potential causation between vaccinations and autism? Some people claim that heavy metals, like mercury used in some vaccinations, can cause autism. The problem with this theory is that there is little scientific evidence to support this. Even if heavy metal causes autism, we are exposed to heavy metal from a variety of sourse. Also, even if there was a link, the benefits of vacciations to the entire population would greatly outweigh the potential of a particaly child developing an illness.

In the Hannah Poling case, her family was awarded money, however the government claimed she had a pre-existing condition that was agrivated by the mercury based thiomersal used in the vaccine. Despite the fact that thiomersal has not been used in most vaccinces since 2001, the rates of autism, especially Aspergers, have increased.
Thimerisol is still used in flu shots. It hasn't been added to other vaccines since 2001, but pre-2001 vaccines are still in supply. If you or child needs a vaccine, request that it is thimerisol-free.

The reason is that some kids/adults cannot detox toxins (from vaccines, enviornment, foods...not only mercury, by the way is still in the manufacturing process of vaccines, presticides, aluminium, there are many toxins in vaccinations, not just mercury. Kids/adults who cannot detox these toxins have a mitochondria dysfunction, like Hanah Polling and my children and myself, which is genetic. SO, these kids are GENETICALLY PREDISOPOSITIONED TO HAVE A REACTION TO THE TOXINS IN THE VACCINATIONS (THE RISE IN THE NUMBER OF VACCINATIONS AT AN AGE OF WHEN YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM AND THE MYCLEIAN SHEALTH (excuse my spelling) IS NOT FULLY DEVELOPED.

If more and more parents are shouting that their kids were normal and than got sick, austim, died, XYZ after vaccination and some hours after...why do people keep questioning the parents...Educate Before You Vaccinate...I wish I did before vaccinating my children...I had to learn the hard way...and they are fine after many traditional and alternative therapies, detox, enzymes, etc.
Vaccination Choice for Parents!
Very good hub. What people don't seem to understand is that, autism is most likely caused by more than just one problem. It's a multi-factor condition. That's why the exact cause is so hard to find. It obviously has something to do with genetics. This is part of the reason it is not obvious immediatly after birth. Every cell in the human body contains the exact same genetic code, but not all genes are expressed in the same place or at the same time. As an example, at puberity, genes that were not expressed are turned on. Other genes are turned off. Our bodies, minds, and behaviors change. It's the same with autism and other conditions as well. As time changes, different genes are expressed and our lives change in accordance.
The NUMEROUS vaccines are biologically active, and yet they are unnatural and foreign to the body. So when the body THEN reacts as if it is infected with disease (via immune responses/antibodies), is it not diseased/ill/damaged/infected to some extent? All of these NUMEROUS and altered/unnatural immune responses/vaccinations will eventually compromise our immune function. The answer is common sense and simple, and there is no way around this. what about the Hannah Poling victory Federal lawsuit? Her parents and lawyers were able to show that there is a significant connection between vaccinations and Aspergers.
