What Is A Safelist?
Do Safelists Work? First of all, let us learn what a safelist is. A safelist is a group of people who agree to receive a marketing email from time to time in order to be able to reciprocate the favor. All members on the list can email each other, usually once a day with a marketing message. This email cannot be considered spam because the list is an opt in list and you must agree to receiving messages to be on the list.
I was recently contacted by a colleague of mine who was considering joining a safelist. We had a long discussion on it but I left him with this. Let's say that you are a door to door salesman and you are selling encyclopedias. You knock at the door and the person that opens the door is all dressed up holding a box. They just happen to be selling kitchenware and they would like you to come in, so they can do a demonstration for you. You are there to sell them on something, while they are trying to sell you on something. The primary concern for each of you is to sell your product and none of your attention is focused on the other person's product. This is why safelists don't work. Hey, I thought about putting up an affiliate banner up for a safelist and cashing in but it isn't worth it. I want to provide solid content and great marketing ideas for the website that I built.
Okay, I admit it, I fell for the old safelist. Hey it was only 34.99 and I can email 2.5 million people every twenty four hours. Hey, I am sure all the members are standing by waiting for my email. In my opinion Safelists don't work, if you do decide to try one, at least join a free safelist.

I paid for a safelist for one of my websites and it didn't help me much.
