Do We Really Need To Take Vitamin Supplements?
68Our Founding Fathers were of strong mind that everyone that everyone should have the opportunity to lead a healthy, happy life. To have a balanced life we must have at least 45 minutes of brisk exercise daily, lots of fresh air and nutritious foods. In our modern world of corporate commerce it has become nearly impossible for the average person to get a proper balanced meal into their daily intake.
With the weak economy and the daily struggle to make ends meet, including the long working hours, preparing 3 healthy, nutritionally valuable meals becomes nothing more than a dream for most families.
With this modern, fast-paced lifestyle it is easier to slip into a pattern that allows for fast foods, rather than healthy foods.
On top of that, with our modern-day big corporate farming practices of producing the greatest crop yield per acre of land, the food that we do eat has less and less nutritional value with each passing year. There are only so many nutrients that can be pulled from the land each year.
Vitamins supplements are needed to replace what is missing in our daily intakes of foods at every meal.
What Vitamins Should I Take?
If we assume that our health is like a house that needs a good foundation, solid walls and a roof to protect you for the years ahead, then likewise your body is similar and needs the same degree of care and effort that you put into your home if it is to give you years of service without falling apart. Just as your home needs regular upkeep, so does your body.
The vitamins and minerals found in the food that we eat are the tools our bodies use to perform the regular maintenance that keeps our bodies healthy.
The vitamin-mineral formulation should help our bodies to rebuild old cells easily while the antioxidant component will help to fight free radical damage. Adults, teenagers and children need a different formulation during the course of their lives. If you are taking medications you should always consult your doctor before taking any vitamin supplements.
Trust Your Vitamins. Can You?
Personally I only trust vitamins that are food-based and have been extracted from real fruits and vegetables. I do not trust synthetic vitamins. I wrote another hub that explains why. You can read about it here.
