You may have to make changes by yourself initially. But that is alright. No one ever said that marriage was a 50-50 situation. You pick up the slack for your partner. If you’re not use to it go ahead and mentally prepare yourself to engage your spouse in more conversation. Go ahead and take some time to get to know your spouse more. If they have a hobby or activity that they like to do then try to get involved and share that experience with them.

If you think that it is needed ask your spouse if he or she is comfortable talking to a marriage counselor. A marriage counselor will be able to take an objective look at your marriage and help facilitate the conversation between you and your spouse.
