Do things happen for a reason? by Mad Me!

We have all heard of 9/11 when the Twin Towers where attached. I know at the time there where many emails going around about how peoples lives had been spared because they had been delayed that day from one reason or another.

I strongly believe that things do happen for a reason and sometimes its very hard to see what they actually are and then again sometimes we never to maybe we where not meant to.

When you are stuck in traffic and start getting annoyed - remember you are delayed for a reason - you might never know what it was.

A friend and I went to one of our local shops to buy something and then I was due to take her back to our other branch. At the store there was such a delay that we where both fuming by the time we eventually left the store. On our way back down towards town we saw a police van with its doors standing open and figured they must be around somewhere. Little did we know that an armed robbery had just happened at a shopping centre near by and people had been shot. Had we been running to our schedule we might have been caught up in the whole mess when they tried to get away. That day we said a silent prayer that although we where extremely cross and being held up at the store our lives may have changed forever had we been where we wanted to be at the time.

Another instance was when I came back from our factory just outside East London and on the way back home on the high way had this sudden urge to go and have coffee with my mom. I checked my watch and saw that I did have time so decided that I would do just that. So I turned off the highway and went and had a chat with my mom and a cuppa coffee. On leaving my mom I once again went back onto the highway. Well here is the answer to why I had this driving force to have that coffee. A taxi had left the road and gone over the bridge. Passengers had landed up in the river below. Now had I not stopped for that cup of coffee I would well have been there at the time.

Have you ever driven passed an accident and realise that should you have just been those few minutes earlier it might have been you!

I today try and remember when I am delayed or forget something at home and have to turn back to realize that there is a reason for it. Who knows what I may have seen or been involved in if I was doing things to 'MY TIME"

I have lived in my East London all my life and it took my boss to tell me about a wonderful little (mmm what would I call it) farm. They serve breakfast and you go and sit outside alongside the dam and eat it, which is a lovely experience. However the importance in that is not the breakfast but I had been given some roses by a friend and my boss told me that there you could purchase bunched of roses for next to nothing. Well I must admit was sceptical. However this passed Sunday we did go for breakfast and it was really a wonderful experience. As for the roses well he was right and when I could not find them I ask a lady and she pointed behind me - (wow he was right) so took the last four bunched then something made me ask the man behind the counteri if he had any more when I went to pay. He said hang on a minute I will go and have a look. He came back with another bucket with 9 bunches in it. I took the lot. I was able to bless my mom for the first time in her life with 13 bunches of roses (she did not quite know what to do with them all I think) Again had we not had that conversation I would never ever have been able to afford that many bunches to bless my mom with ( she has this saying bring me flowers while I am alive to enjoy them not when I am dead).

I have over the past few years taken my parents away for Easter Week end. However with them know that finances are very stretched for all of us I decided that maybe we should call it off and I think that's how my mom felt as well. She is more worried about cost then having a rest. I however had phoned someone I know who has a holiday home just outside East London and asked if he knew of someone who had a home to hire for the Easter Week end. Well he said he would let me know. I had heard nothing from him and he said that unfortunately their's had been booked by the same people who had used it over Christmas. Then the phone rang one Sunday afternoon and he asked if I was still looking for somewhere. I said was not to sure and was told that the people that where suppose to have been hiring their place had not paid the deposit so if I wanted it I could have it. Now here is the awesome part - at almost half of the going normal rate. Just what I can afford.

Who else has awesome stories like these???
