Great Inspirational Quotes

Whenever I communicate with young people, I always try to use quotes or wise sayings to inspire the kids. Young people relate to inspirational stories or quotes since they can remember and take them along for reference through their ride through early live. I will give you some of my favorites that have been tried and been proven to be excellent motivational and inspirational.

One of the best and greatest inspirational quotes or comments about life I have ever heard and actually use to this day, is from Ben Franklin. I usually paraphrase this quote for young people by saying," If you lay down with dogs, you will get up with fleas".

This inspirational quote hits directly to the fact that if you stay around people who do inappropriate acts, you will end up doing or acting the same way. I always ask the youth if they understand the meaning, and they always understand! I have seen many kids change their lives by just living this advice. I was one of them!!!

One morning while riding with a friend to school, we hit a chicken. Of course the feathers flew and because of our speed, were strewn all over the road. Our driver never slowed down from his speed of about 80 miles per hour, but he did utter the words that I use to this day. He simpley said, "Chickens one day, feathers the next".

My friends and I roared with laughter at our driver completely ignoring the dead chicken. Later I began to think about the driver's saying. He was right. We can be riding high one day and thinking everything is great, when "bam", your life changes. Many times this change is for the bad.

I now tell young people who think they are above problems this now famous saying and instruct them to not be so cocky! After all life can be "chickens one day and truly feathers the next"!
