Do you know what's in your water?

When I was a kid, I can remember every summer we lived in the swimming pool, but do you know what's in the water? The City of Phoenix had to close all 21 of its public pools last summer because swimmers were getting sick. We use chlorine, which is a powerful oxidant and is used in bleaching and disinfectants. This chemical is so bad for your health.

Chlorine can cause problems with your stomach and kidney. Swimmers should be aware of the concentration of chlorine exposure they receive and those who care for pools should closely monitor chlorine levels, but know matter how much you try to protect swimmers, one parasite doesn't respond to chlorine. Cryptosporidium- a parasite that causes cramping diarrhea, vomiting and fever that can last a couple of weeks. Chlorine can also cause respiratory problems. Researchers used a machine to test airflow during forced exhaling to diagnose bronchoconstriction. When the chlorine concentration was 0.5 parts-per-million (PPM) or less, the incidence rate for respiratory trouble was just under 20 percent the same as with exercise outside the pool. But when the chlorine concentration reached 1.0 PPM, a concentration commonly recommended for the care of home pools, the rate of EIB jumped to over 60 percent, regardless of prior history of such breathing problems, so guys be careful.

Kangen Water for your swimming pool

I wrote a hub about Kangen Water because, I don't know if I mentioned, I suffered from Vertigo or dizziness, which is a symptom, not a disease that I'm told is caused from dehydration. The term vertigo refers to the sensation of spinning or whirling that occurs as a result of a disturbance in balance (equilibrium). It also may be used to describe feelings of dizziness, lightheartedness, faintness, and unsteadiness. I was given several glass bottles of Kangen Water, and I would say after 2 days the dizziness went away.

Kangen water is also used in swimming pools. The machine has two components inside its flow cell which actually splits the water molecule into OXYGEN (OH) and HYDROGEN.This process is called Oxidation. This OXYGEN takes the place of Chlorine as the sanitizer. Oxidation is achieved by water passing through the machines flow cell while a very low volt D/C electrical current is sent to the coated TITANIUM/PLATINUM plates in the chamber.

While in this mode, the process of electrolysis causes the electro-physical separation of water molecule. This separation forms free oxygen atoms and hydroxyl (OH). This process creates a combination of the most powerful oxidizers available for water disinfectants. These oxidizers, the oxygen atoms and hydroxyl ions, are responsible for eliminating body oils, sun tan lotions and as well as the dead organic matter.

The second part of the process is Copper Ionization. After the water molecule is split it then passes over 100% Copper plates that are charged with the same low volt D.C. current. While in this mode, Copper ions are released. Copper ionization is the most effective form of algae and fungal control available on the market today. The copper content is kept at a very low .5 to .7 parts per million. This amount of copper is less than 25% of the E.P.A. required intake recommended daily. You could actually drink up to two gallons of your pool water every day and you would have no more Copper intake that a common multi-vitamin.

This is interesting, is the normal alkalizer machine large enough to have impact on the volume of water a pool hold? It seems a more industrial piece of equipment would be needed.

Thanks for an informative hub on chlorine and its dangers. Salt water pools are now becoming more prevalent as people become more educated. Great piece furthering clean water

I too was introduced to Kangen water, isn't it great?

Thank you so much ajm5050 for your comment and emohealer.....yes Kangen water is "Awesome".....I'm trying to drink a gallon a day, you know it helps with weight loss as well. I'm so happy the media and congress is realizing bottle water is not safe to drink and that chlorine in our swimming pool is bad for our health.
