Whether you believe in abortion or not, I personally believe that any underage abortions should have a parental consent. Children are not mature enough, although some think they are, to make this type of decision. Parents should know before their child goes through this serious type of procedure.

The answer is this, in some they do, in some they don't. In others, they just have to notify their parents. Just think about this, your daughter goes to school on a regular basis and comes home one day with a form begging you to sign it. It's a form to allow them to go on a field trip. They beg you saying that they won't be able go unless you sign it. So you do, and they get to go.

Now imagine this. You daughter comes home one day. She just got an abortion because some young boy, only wanting some action, knocked her up. You didn't know. You weren't even told but maybe she gets a complication from it. Now she can't ever have children again. It's terrifying to think.

You may be thinking, from what some companies who will not be named want you to think, that there are few complications. With any procedure, there are always complications. Some of the complications are infection, excessive bleeding, embolism, ripping or perforation of the uterus, anesthesia complications, convulsions, hemorrhage, cervical injury, and endotoxic shock.

There are emotional risks as well:

"In a survey of over 100 women who had suffered from post-abortion trauma, fully 80 percent expressed feelings of "self-hatred." In the same study, 49 percent reported drug abuse and 39 percent began to use or increased their use of alcohol. Approximately 14 percent described themselves as having become "addicted" or "alcoholic" after their abortions. In addition, 60 percent reported suicidal ideation, with 28 percent actually attempting suicide, of which half attempted suicide two or more times."

Do you want your daughter going through this without your knowledge? So they are telling me that I have to agree to my child going on a bus a few miles away but I don't need to know that my child is going to or had an abortion? Yeah there's risks that the parent will be abusive to their child, but we can set up something to where if the child feels as that is going to happen, that there is someone to help and keep a close eye rather than them destroying themselves.

So what states allow abortion without parental consent? Alaska, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maine, Maryland, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Vermont, and Washington. That's too many states.

Now did you know that President Obama's health care plan supposedly will allow all underage children the ability to get abortions without parental consent in ALL states. I found that out by a nice phone call from Mike Huckabee. I still haven't fully researched this to see if it is true. However, if it is, I'm going to be pissed!

Even though I personally don't believe in abortions, I do believe that it is the woman's right to choose. However, I do not believe it is a child's right to choose. Studies show that children don't FULLY understand the risks of things until their 20s. So why are we allowing them to get abortions?
