make money through internet friends/connections

Friendships are an important part of life, but many of us find it difficult to find, make or keep friends. Making good friends could help us in life, we could get connected through our friends on business matters, jobs, good connections. Many people meet friends at school, work, church, a long the road, internet, in buses etc.

Try to open yourself up to the possibilities by participating in social occasions, such as weddings, employee/friends birthdays.

Its true some people are shy to make friends, but you just have to try it, cause its a great way to make people know you, specially if you have a business, or site you want to promote.

I am happy to say that i love my new frineds, cause they have advice me, spiritually, educationally, materially and otherwise.

What about getting back to old friends, there are no friends like old friends, i.e people you have made either when you were in school some years back, you have known each other some how. They might have come into your life in a variety of ways; class mate, room mate, former neighbour, co-worker etc.

Good friends are not made overnight. Sharing your deepest secrets in one night or business related would not necessarily create a close friendships. It may even drive the other person away. Take it slowly, until you are successful.

Things in making new friends in a foreign land. For both locals and expats.

1. Smile often. Im letting them know that I am friendly and approachable. I want to show them good aura.

2. Start a small conversation. Whether it could be "Hi" or "Hello.." just as long as they will feel that you are trying to get along with them.

3. Expressing your interest. Should it be an expression of wanting to know the person or wanting to learn the culture, show it. It may really look awkward sometimes, but most of the times it works well. You may want to say some local language but your pronunciation is wrong, some local people will laugh at you. And if they do, laugh with them. I did that many times and it works well. Local people thinks that when a foreigner tries to immitate them (I mean, in a positive way) like speaking local language, they find it cute and amusing. Learn things from them that interests you.

4. Be visible. Always show up. Pay a courteous visit to a local friend or family. When invited, try to come, as possible as you can. And sometimes, if you can, invite them over to your place, or if not possible in your place, then at some other place. Mingle with the people. Don't be a loner.

5. When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Learn their customs, ways, and traditions that are very important for them and if possible for you to do, learn to do it.

6. Show them what you've got. It may be the right time to showcase what you got. You may have some talent or ability that may amuse them. Speak your mind. Show the goodness in you.

7. Don't be (too) finicky. Be reasonable. Some locals may opt to eat on banana leaves and you wanted to eat on a china plate. Dont treat yourself as a VIP when hanging out with them. When you really can't eat what they call an "exotic" dish, tell them honestly BUT politely.

8. Hang out with them. Play some sports with them, have a night-out with them, drink with them, socialize with them.

9. Show them that you are an interesting and amusing person. Let them know your strengths and weaknesses and vice versa. This way you can form an alliance to become friends.

10. Just be yourself. Nothing beats showing them who you really are--good and ill manners alike, and not in pretentious living.

Choose your friends

Instead of thinking, “I have no friends. I want lots of friends,” try for just one or two. Most people can only handle a few close friends — from zero to three is common. If you just want a “boyfriend” or “girlfriend” because you're lonely, that means one friend, so you've made a start. How do you make a close friend? Here's one way:

Among all the Christians you know who are not your close friends, think of one who has ideas or likes and dislikes similar or closest to your own. This is the first person you should try to become close friends with. It may be someone in your youth group, church, school, sports club, or anywhere else. Now let's see how to turn this person into a friend.

Start with a brief conversation

To start, think of something you could talk to this person about, even if it's only for a minute or two. You may simply ask him or her:

  • what she or he thinks about a certain song or style of music
  • what he or she likes to do on weekends
  • what places or events she or he likes to go to.

Or maybe something has happened at your school, the place you work, or on the TV news that you could ask the person's opinion about. You only need a brief discussion to start with to break the ice. Whatever you decide, try in a friendly way to get them to talk with you and discuss it for a while. If you can find out what this person likes, you can then learn more about it yourself. You can probably get the person talking easily by asking them a few questions about it.

Keep in mind that no one likes someone who is not a close friend asking a bunch of personal questions. Try to put people at ease until they feel comfortable talking to you. Make the conversation a two-way discussion: don't do all the talking yourself, and don't expect the other person to do all the talking or answer all the questions. If it doesn't work out the first time, try again later.

Practice on others to get rid of nerves

If you feel too nervous talking to them, put it off until you feel OK about it. Meanwhile, practice your talking skills on someone you don't care about as much. This will give you valuable practice because you won't be as nervous.

After finally talking to your new potential friend, if you still think this person might make a good friend, invite them out with a group. Or see if they would like to go to a public place with you. This could be an exhibition, a sports game, a school art display, or somewhere you are out in the open. This is much less threatening than asking them over to your house straight away or asking them to the movies.

If you need to, organize a few people to go somewhere. Just say something like: “A few of us are going to the big baseball game next month — would you like to come?” You could say this to several people until you have enough. If it's an invitation to something you know the person likes, success is likely!
