Do you think Governor Pailan would be able tobe a competent President, if she had to replace Se. McCain? Why?
59First of all, its very hard to imagine Sarah Palin replacing Sen. McCain, running for President. As to your question, even if she were to replace Sen. McCain, hypothetically speaking, I think she would do no better than Sen. McCain; in fact, I think she'd probably do much worse. Yes, she is young and charismatic (some say), but her knowledge of issues (current affairs, foreign affairs, etc) - leaves a lot to be desired. Now, I am not saying that, you've got to judge someone based on those criteria solely but someone she doesn't inspire confidence - she doesn't work for me at least - let me put it that way.
Palin, it seems was just selected to attract a section of voters to the Republican side. I don't think she met any criteria for being a Vice Presidential candidate. She was just basically picked up and put on the pedestal. Sen. McCain on the other hand has lots of experience and I don't think there is frankly any comparison between the two. I think McCain would make for a better President any day than Palin. I think having Palin as President would be a lot like having Bush as President. A lot of gaffes for sure. She'd sure keep the late-night talk show hosts in business.
