Does He Look Gay or European? Can you help me out?

I think my brother dresses gay, what do you think?

First of all, I don't know how to really write this without offending anyone... so I'll just put it out there, and throw "politically correct" to the wind and try not to sound like too much of a jerk.

I'm not going to insult anyone with the statement "some of my best friends are gay" but I will say this... in my life, I have never been able to tell if someone is gay, unless they were a man and a particularly snappy dresser. Call me naive, but I gotta think, that on a bad day wearing my frumpy "fat" pants and a baseball hat to cover my bed head, I might be mistaken for lesbian... So, I give my fellow travelers in life, the benefit of proceeding through their day without my judgements.

With the exception of my brother... who has time and time again, regularly and without fail, made me pause upon seeing his "get-ups".

Having said that.... My brother, whom I know is not gay....Is the gayest dresser I have ever seen. Today, he left to spend the day with his girlfriend and her dad in the City, and he was wearing..... Short Kacki Magnum P.I Shorts, a cream colored tight fitting V-Neck polo, leather adidas sneakers that looked like ballet shoes. His blond hair is shaved and his skin is tanned.

This spring, my brother in law saw him walking down the avenue with a rainbow umbrella, Magnum shorts, no shirt, smoking a ciggy, ballet shoes...cough...I mean sneakers no socks. He's a tall guy, like 6' 2" or so.... he is hard to miss... especially with a nice big rainbow umbrella.

OK, like I said, I'm not an expert on "what is gay". I know that when he got his divorce, he met his current girlfriend... remarkably quick, (if you know what I mean) and she worked in a high falutin department store. She assisted him in compiling his current outfits. I would say, that the clothes fit him tightly and if you like that style, they fit nicely... but they look... feminine. I mean, the V-Neck polo, has a V neck... no buttons, and still has the polo collar! It looks like something I have in my closet. (except I don't think mine is a cream colored spandex)

How could he dress that wouldn't be Gay? That's a good question. Like I said, I couldn't and wouldn't pick out a gay guy in a crowd unless he was dressed this pretty with his leather adidas ballet shoes... but a crowd of guys outfitted in LL Bean or Lands End (sans the speedo) even abercrombie or something would probably do it. I'm not going to go as far as to say flannel (because it's still summer) but come fall, I would expect to see some honest to god Flannel on those men.... not the faux flannel with pre-cuffed sleeves.

Maybe it's not the clothes... maybe it's the fit. Maybe if he didn't wear his shirts so tight, and shorts so tight and short... I don't know.

I know, I know, who am I to talk. It's just... it's just.... every time I see him, I think, "man, you look gay" or "what 12 year old did you steal those shorts from?"

And so.... ultimately, if he is happy, and his girlfriend likes it... who am I to say.

That's not the question.

The question is.... Do you think my brother dresses gay?

Your comments would be appreciated!

Thanks

Well, the outfit's definitely sound ultra-metrosexual ... without photo, hard to say. BUT sometimes wishin' my man dressed a little more "with it." Golf shirts and bermudas...he could be 80, he could be 45...but he's definitely boring. (Sweet but boring) I did get him to rethink the 'comb over' and get a more contemporary hair cut! So, if it's not one thing...it's another!

You crack me up! Comb over. yes... I would say, Ultra-Metro-sexual and hazzard another definitive like: Mega-Ultra-Metro-Sexual! Thanks for the input. Fortunately he is my brother, and therefore he is really his girlfriends problem. I just can't look at him.
