Laser hair restoration is a method of treating baldness and hair loss that has been in the news for a while.  Much anecdotal evidence has been gathered that points to the effectiveness of this treatment and the re-growth of hair.  If you are looking for a way to help stop hair loss and possibly grow it back you should check out this procedure.

When laser hair therapy first came on the scene it could only be found in a hair restoration clinic.  The device at that time was big and bulky.  In fact, it looked like one of the old style hair dryers you used to see in a beauty parlor.  You know, the ones that look like a huge kettle turned up side down with wires coming out of it.  Inside the bonnet were a series of low energy lasers that pulsed light energy onto the scalp.  This energy would actually travel through the scalp and excite the tissue below giving a slight heating effect.

Over time this therapy would cause more blood to flow to the dormant and dieing hair follicles thus giving them a surge of life giving oxygen and nutrients that could be used to manufacture new hair shaft material.  By increasing the blood supply the effects of male pattern baldness could be alleviated and sometimes reversed.  The Laser Hair Restoration Facts Guide has a lot more information on how to use the laser and the theory of its use.

The basic theory is that the light energy from the low energy level laser excites the tissue under the scalp and adds heat to it.  This heat causes the tiny blood vessels to expand and allow more blood flow to the hair follicles which are also known as the roots.  This increased blood flow gives the hair the growth factors it needs to produce thick, tough hair shafts.

This makes sense because the main cause of male pattern baldness is a build up of the metabolite DHT at the Follicle blood barrier.  This build up chokes off the flow of blood and thus starves the hair follicle until it finally just gives up and allows the hair shaft to drop off.  Increasing blood flow can counteract this problem.

I'm losing hair at a rapid speed. This really sounds great. I'd love to be able to let my hair grow back. Seems very low risk as well.

Sound expensive, but could be worth the cost for many. Thanks for the information.
