God is greater than the simple lines on your palm
Leave behind your dark past
Leave behind your dark past
Let the colourful memories multiply
Let the colourful memories multiply
An angry unforgiving person cannot be happy
An angry unforgiving person cannot be happy
God will forgive and forget your past sins
God will forgive and forget your past sins
You will have a glorious and eternal future
You will have a glorious and eternal future

Light from the Dark Past

Is it possible to get light out of darkness? Practically impossible. If your past was darkness, then don't look back for light to lead you ahead. If your past was brighter, it would mean that you are now in darkness and you need to come out to light - just check out, have you ended up in a cave?

Colourful Memories of the Past

I have a friend who has a huge collection of photographs of her past and the album keeps growing in size day by day. She complained, "I have no time to go through those photographs." I said, "Obviously, your life is getting more and more busy and happier than your past." And I wished her that she never gets time to see them through, as life becomes more beautiful everyday, not giving you time for your past.

That is the kind of life we are expected to lead in this world. God wants us not to look back and worry about our current circumstances - but to thank Him for leading us into a better today. His mercies are new every morning. Let us enjoy our today and look ahead to better days.

A Bitter and Hurting Past

For those less privileged who have had a bitter past or a hurting one, it would be good to look at your today and praise God for leading you away from those days of darkness. If the bitterness was caused by people, the bitterness can return to you whenever you think of them. This bitterness can make you a bitter person and your life could become more and more wretched. The best thing to do would be to release that bitterness against those people against whom you bear the grudge.

Blessedness of Forgetting

The blessed psalmist says, "Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered." Our God is One who forgets our sins, as He reveals Himself, "I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; And I will not remember your sins."

A few young boys approached a palmist with the photograph of the palm of a servant of God. They told him to reveal about the man whose palm it was. The palmist read through it and said, "This man would have lived a fantastic life in his young age and then in his late twenties, he would pass away suddenly." The boys were shocked as they knew that the servant of God was already in his late thirties. So they went to the servant of God to clarify how this could be. The man of God said, "It is true that I lived a 'fantastic life' according to worldly standards in my youth. I was an addict to every evil - I used to drink, smoke, loiter around with filthy friends following their filthy ways and life seemed to be 'fantastic'. Inwardly, I had no peace and I was wretched. When I was twenty-eight years old, all the evil habits got over me and I was in my deathbed, doctors having given up hopes on my survival. At that time, an evangelist visited me at the hospital and I accepted the Lord Jesus Christ. I was then critically ill and about to die, and suddenly, the Lord Jesus Christ healed me miraculously. I am a living miracle not only medically, but also in my own lifestyle. The Lord forgave me and made me a new creation and the life I live now is purely by the grace of God. Had I not come to the Lord Jesus Christ, I wouldn't be alive today, just as the palmist revealed. I am what I am by the grace of God."

This is the experience of nearly every born-again man. The day he accepts the Lord Jesus Christ into his life and turns around from his past sinful ways, he is totally forgiven. God blots out his sins and he is a new creation. People may remember his past, but the Lord will remember them no more.

A Glorious Future

The Lord declares, "You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy."

God has promised life eternal for those who become His people and His children. The past sins will be forgotten. The Lord says, "Behold, I make all things new." And He will transform you into a new being. The only requirement is for you to believe and accept the new life that the Lord Jesus Christ offers, giving control of your life over to the Lord.

"As many as received the Lord Jesus Christ, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."

Step into that glorious life and glorious future. Your past life really would not matter.

God bless!
