Does jail time accomplish anything?
62To justify your question I would have to be positive and negative about jail time. Certain people only respond to their responsibilities by feeling it the hard way and, yes, placing them behind bars may just do the trick.
I believe slightly differently to other people about incarsarating someone. It can either improve or cause the person to become more aggressive. You have no way of telling but you can prevent aggression by finding another way for the person to pay back what they owe to society.
I the case of murder, and the murder of a bread winner to be specific, I would rather have the killer take the place of the bread winner by having him/her provide for those left behind to survive. Who looks after them when their loved one has been removed from them?
Certain cases of fraud and theft can be rehabilitated by education. It does not pay to jail someone who can serve time doing community services in the line of work that he is experienced in.
Only hardened repeat offenders need to be put behind bars. And before I forget, sexual offenders should be completely removed from society. Those who hurt innocent women and children for depraved fun can join the ranks of the jailed too.
I believe that most countries handle the penile system incorrectly. Most government officials deserve to be behind bars themselves.
Judge not before you be jusdged.
