Does Jesus Really Come?

Frigid cold~

And me~

With hardly~

Nothing on~

At all.

A short walk~

To the wood shed~

Across sheer ice~

Pushed myself on~

Cautious something~

Could go wrong.

The porch~

A foreboding occurred~

Before I took~

Those first few steps~

Yet I walked on.

Alas the partial goal~

The shed~

And bag of wood.

The thoughts practical~

The choice not to~

Carry but throw~

And than there~

I stood.

The wisdom~

To walk the~

Return trek~

With only empty~

Hands to balance~

My load~

And there~

I stand.

Down one step~

To the natural thick~

Stoned hearthed step.

Than a ritualistic~

Deep breath~

Again with courage~

Before the next~

Toward ice~

First step.

Right foot first~

To the sheer substance~

Detoured in a moment~

Next on notice!

My pant!

Bang!

I’m crashing!

The left arm~

Seemingly totally~

Hit hard~

And shattered~

To Nothing~

Oh darn!

No words~

To describe the total~

Confusion~

As the wind was~

Knocked out of~

My very soul!

As part of me~

Wished this was~

Only a very bad illusion!

My arm!

My arm!

My God my arm!

There is something~

Very wrong!

Rational thoughts~

Gathering~

To take charge!

I must make it~

To the house!

I must call~

Nine, one, one~

I know I am~

Seriously harmed!

Far away did~

My refuge look.

Yet I knew from~

Past experience~

Not to hesitate~

And be fooled.

Shock could~

Set in~

And no one was~

Home!

I must make it~

To the phone!

Certain I could~

Not stand~

The hurt~

And the ice~

Too slick for~

Beast or man!

I flummoxed on~

Hands and knees~

Like a drunken babe~

Hurrying for mothers~

Breast to comfort up!

Not far I went~

Till I saw~

The tragic fate!

My arm!

My hand!

Both twisted~

The wrong way!

Panic to the brain!

My arm is severed!

My arm is gone!

My arm is apart!

Oh no!

What is this horrible fate~

So strong!

Terror took half my mind~

While the remainder~

Remembers emergency~

Training from~

Eons gone by.

I must keep~

My arm still~

To wait!

Wait for a professional~

To set it straight.

Simultaneously~

Fear still occurs~

While rational thoughts~

Decide on the proper~

Procedure.

I must keep~

It cold~

In hopes it can~

Be saved!

I trust it is not~

Too crucially belate!

Crouched down~

Legged knees~

Arms and Rear~

To the slippery coolest~

Of what seemed~

A frozen lake.

At the same time~

Paralyzing thoughts~

Now I must get help!

Before I go into shock!

Rather hypothermia~

Or both set in!

What is this horrendous plot!

I yell~

I scream~

“HELP!”~

Voicing my plight~

“HELP!” ~

Continued more~

“HHEELLP!”

Screeching-ly!

“Help!” ~

My shrills~

“help” ~

Frequent and futile~

“hhhhheeeeeelllllppp” ~

Until they over~

Take my breath away.

No voice left~

No strength~

To shout on~

No one around~

To hear my pleas~

To be found.

I think~

Wait~

No one will~

Attend my cries~

Not way out here~

I could die!

Oh my God! ~

No one will~

Find me!

Not in time!

Not in the~

Middle of suburban~

Wilderness, racked~

With bear, coyotes~

And deer! ~

“OH MY GOD WILL I DIE ?!”

Alarm!

Desperation!

The cold~

Is so bitterly untamed!

How can I get help?

The situation racked~

With helplessness~

No doubt famed.

Frantic Emotions~

Reach deep~

To my inner gut.

From the bottom~

Of all of me~

I shout out!

“JESUS HELP ME!”

Not a second~

Went by~

Not the last~

Part of “EEE”

Did a suspension come~

Flighting and Lifted~

Me high~

Almost level~

With tree leaves~

As I fly!

To now be placed~

On perfect location~

Down on a total~

Different part~

Of frozen ground~

As a car drives up~

To see me harmed.

A miracle took place~

That I immediately~

Recognized!

For it was for sure~

That help is now~

Coming speedily!

Twas a miracle also~

That before my next help shout~

I remembered to pray~

Out loud from~

The bottom of my~

Grateful heart.

“THANK YOU JESUS!” ~

“Thank You Jesus” ~

“Jesus thank you”.

“HELP!”

“HELP!”

“HHHEEEELLLLPPP!”

My yells are now heard!

The calls are bade~

As I stay impatient~

On the ice~

For recovery~

To be made.

The EMT’s soon converge~

Taking care with~

Pain stake.

Obvious I am cold~

My bottom~

 On ice ~

Froze~

Like a freezer steak!

Than the unbearable~

Pain begins!

Hurry friends!

I worry still of others~

To not slip on the dreadful ice!

Yet the pain overtakes!

The minutes last forever~

What a horrific plight!

They are my friends~

The emergency technicians.

People from church~

Whom I trust very much~

For I know they are a couple~

Filled with much pure love.

I find no words~

To fully express~

All the more God~

Had meticulously lain.

Yet from than on~

The tragedy~

With enduring, lingering~

Effects still be~

Makes me think~

I still whole heartedly~

Know GOD mapped~

Out the great care~

That came to me~

With out a doubt!

I had in the past~

Heard stories of such~

And wondered how~

Or if JESUS would come?

With humor~

 I must learn~

To not ponder such~

Things more~

For I am taught~

With enormous instruction~

Through a risky back door.

Yet I am very blessed~

I know to this day~

That JESUS is real~

And HE listens~

To us pray!

I know for sure~

Now that JESUS~

Will come~

If you shout sincerely~

HIS blessed queried name~

JESUS will most definitely~

Suspend you~

Out of~

Arms way!

JESUS really does come!

This is amazing. It's a good thing that you didn't forget to pray in either situation. I'm so glad you're okay. This situation is terrifying even to read about.

A horrible experience made into an uplifting parable with poetic grace..." your " suburban wilderness " was a pure hell on earth...yet your inner faith and strength enabled you to survive this tragic event...and you have expressed your personal trauma and rescue wonderfully...Thanks, Larry

Great and powerful poem Lisa. Although tragic — it made you stronger in faith. You wrote beautifully and your imagery was amazingly portrayed. Thank you for sharing your experience Lisa. God Bless.

Thank You Arthur!

I really appreciate you stopping by and giving your (what I can tell) high experienced words.

I think faith gained is the most important treasure of all!

Did you happen to read my "I know now"?

http://hubpages.com/hub/IKnowNow

I think it flows even better and even though happening much younger in life stays very fresh in my mind as a faith affirmation.

Both of these I felt stalwart in writing in the last few days; I like to think from the whispers of God’s instructions.

Both in the past I had written in other formats with out great success (Even being turned down from Guide Post Magazine on the drowning one).

This time I felt urgency to write them both in a story poem format, hopefully now successful and worthy to the glory of GOD.

Again Thank You!

Lisa

Hi Yeah Yeah and James A. Watkins thank you both for stopping by

It is both an honor and a privilege to have such peeps as you stop in.

James A. Watkins Thank You ---Double—coming from you –I am humbled truly…

Yeah Yeah ~ I am thrilled you stopped back and with such a great question!

My motivation is life, true life, expressing what is lived from outside to inside.

In this story/poem “Does Jesus Really Come?” And “I Know Now” there is of course a duel purpose and motivator for the testimony of the ALMIGHT LORD GOD.

Not only what I wrote here in these two story poems is something I am compelled to express from my life experience, but I felt in both cases urged on by GOD himself to shout out these wondrous happenings to give hope, answers, and maybe new faith to those who read them.

Generally all my writings are based on true stories, many times as accurate as I can get them, or they are based on life feelings in themselves. I also am a sensitive so I feel others pain, trials and tribulations so I can express them also as far as I feel them.

I have been blessed with a great life, as in a very happy childhood with endless experiences remembered in detail plus more trials and tribulations than most people have to ever endure (still blessed).

All this boils down to much of a full life I am compelled to express.

I hope I answered your question Yeah Yeah ? Always feel free to ask anything. And what a wonderful question this was! Thank You so much!

PURE LOVE.
