Dog barking is a problem that is common for many dog owners. However, we are all on the lookout for a variety of ways that we can control our dogs barking so that they do not provide a distraction or problem with our neighbors. I know that one of my dogs rarely barks and when he does he has a great reason to be barking, but for one of my dogs he likes to bark at anything that moves and even stuff that doesn't move which can  make it kind of hard to control this behavior. However, I have found out a couple of things that have helped me control his barking without having to utilize a dog bark collar.

The first way that I have found to help control his barking when he is indoors and I have something new to bring into the house I will let him sniff the item and get used to the item before I turn it on. Now I know that when I got a new freezer a while back I had to make sure that it sat there for some time to ensure that it wouldn't get damaged by turning it on to early, but that was perfectly find because it gave him a chance to get used to the new item. Which really helped out tremendously because he didn't bark at it when I finally plugged the freezer in and turned it on.

The second way that I managed to bring my dog's barking under control was by teaching him the meaning of the word quiet. Now I know that this did take some time and I had to go through some very rough patches of him barking at anything that moved, but it did work. I know that when you are trying to cure dog barking using this method time and patience will be your best friend that you have available. The best way that I found to get my dog to stop barking using this method was that when he would start barking I would tell him to be quiet and not praise him until he was quiet. Then after he quieted down when I told him to I would praise him by patting his chest which would make him feel proud because he was being praised for doing something good.

While many people have a wide variety of ways that they handle dog barking with success. I know that some of those methods involve using a bark collar which I do not like using. However, these two methods that I mentioned above work out really well without the use of a collar to help stop my dog from barking.
