For instance if your dog is in the backyard for most of the day and you are not taking him out for enough exercise, he may start to display excessive dog barking as a result of having too much energy. This is a cry for help from your dog. Most dogs need to be taken out at least once a day for a good long walk to burn up excess energy. Traditionally dogs were used to work, they had a purpose in life, and they weren't just couch potatoes. Unfortunately many pet owners feel that they can just treat their dogs as cuddly little toys. If you do this you are going to have problems. You should take your dog out for a good stiff walk for at least a half an our everyday, you will notice a drastic change in the dog's behavior and subsequently the dog barking problems should diminish.
