Dog bathing can be a challenge for many people because if your dog is like most they like to shake the water off while you are still standing there next to them trying to get them wet! I know that many times I am left trying to figure out who is wetter by the end of the dog bathing time because we both look like we were standing outside in the middle of a hurricane. However, I have found a couple of dog bathing tips that have managed to help me in keeping myself a little bit drier than what I normally am. Here are those dog bathing tips that I have found that helped make bathing my dog more enjoyable for all that are involved!

1. If you are going to be bathing your dog outside you will want to try to secure them to a single area with a leash. I know that this seems straightforward, but some people will not even consider this step and then while they are bathing their dog they will have to chase them around the yard instead.

2. A great dog bathing tip for many people to think about using is to set up a towel around your dog and creat a kind of shower type area with the towels surronding him. That way when your dog decides that he wants to shake off you will be able to duck behind the towel and enjoy the protection that it is going to offer to you.

3. A dog bathing tip that many people will overlook is to try to make the bath time enjoyable for your dog. I know that much like our children our dogs like being bathed, but if you do not make it enjoyable or fun for them then they will not like being bathed and put up a fight for you. So if you are able to try to spray your dog or do something with the water that your dog likes it will make it more enjoyable for them and they will in turn make it a little bit easier on you.

4. Another great dog bathing tip would be to try to make the bath as quick as possible. I know that with our kids we usually like to let them play in and splash the water. However, with your dog they normally do not like standing in the one place for a long period of time so I have found that the quicker the bath the easier it is to get done without getting soaking wet.

Dog bathing can be fun and enjoyable for almost everyone involved, but if you follow these great dog bathing tips it might even become a fun adventure for you and your dog. I know that just by using these tips my English Mastiff has started to enjoy his baths more and wants to get them done more often even to the point that he has tried to climb into the shower with me!
