The B.A.R.F. Diet

More pet owners are switching from feeding their pets commercialized dog foods to the all-natural B.A.R.F Diet. This type of diet, which consists of 60%-80% raw meaty bones and 20%-40% other dog food ingredients that can be a combination of offal, fruits, vegetables, grain, eggs, and dairy products, provides all the nutritional needs of our canine friends.

As compared to processed pet foods that are usually grain-based, raw meaty bones make up a large part of canines’ actual evolutionary diets. Get young puppies started on B.A.R.F. and see them live a longer and healthier life. Take a look at the following steps as to how to prepare B.A.R.F. dog food recipes

:

Meaty Bones

For the meaty bone portion of your feed, crush the bones of chicken, lamb, rabbit, buffalo, venison, beef, pork, moose, and other raw meat just enough for your dog’s digestive capabilities. If you are feeding a puppy, you can ask your supplier to grind the bones or use a manual or electric grinder. The meaty bones ratio should be at least 60% raw chicken bones and the rest can be a combination of other meaty bones.

Organic Foods

Next, you then prepare the mix of organic foods, offal, and other ingredients. One recipe is mixing three eggs, three tablespoons of flax seed or hemp oil, a quarter of a lamb’s liver or two ounces of chicken liver, beef heart, or turkey or chicken gizzards, garlic, and kelp. With this pattie mix, you can then combine vegetables and/or fruits, and then the meaty bones. Divide the mix into meal servings and then freeze.

Fruits & Vegetables

Juice the fruits and vegetables that would be included in the patty mix. If you like, you can add purely vegetables at one time and then only fruits at another time. Options include oranges, grapes, apple bananas, peas, blueberries, green beans, beets, spinach, celery, squash, carrots, collard greens, and so on. You can also add vitamin supplements for better dog food nutrition
