Which kind of dog do you want to be with your kid? Surely, you need one of those safe, friendly and playful dogs that are good with children. The most important thing you need to consider before getting him or her a dog is the age of your child. If a child is below seven months a small dog with enough training and predictable behavior is suitable. A big dog could easily harm your kid by knocking him down.

A standard Poodle is a recommended dog for children. The main qualities of a poodle are that it is active and playful. And since it sheds less, your children will be free from allergies that come with the majority of dogs.

A Golden Retriever is a good dog for children too because it has a kind nature and does not have a temperament that can affect your child. The dog loves playing and exercising, it is a type of dog you can trust and leave it with you children in a park or even at home alone.

Another obedient and faithful dog you can get for you kids is Bichon Frise. Remember, that the dog that you get for your child should always be kept clean and well groomed.

Is Samoyed a Hypoallergenic Dog?

Yes. Samoyed is a hypoallergenic dog. It's the lack of dander which makes them hypoallergenic, so this breed is very good for people with allergies.

Samoyed has virtually no smell or "doggy odor" which makes these dogs well-suited for living indoors. The dense coat can make summer temperatures uncomfortable for them in very warm climates, and they prefer to be indoors where the air is cooled. The coat sheds seasonly, but it needs weekly (and sometimes daily) brushing. You can collect the Samoyed's undercoat shed, if you will. The white or biaquit (seldom) coat also acts as a natural repellent to fleas and ticks.

Surely, if you're too much worried about your carpets and don't want to clean them too often, this dog may be a bad choice for you. Anyway you should think twice on this, because Samoyeds are excellent companions, especially for children. Another advantage of this breed is that they remain almost as playful in their old age as during first years of their life. At last, they are very good watch dogs (though poor at guarding) and they would bark any time someone or something strange would approach their (i.e. your own) territory.

If you suffer from allergies and love to have a nice companion, getting a Samoyed -- hypoallergenic dog -- is certainly the thing you should think of.
