He left for Hawaii to work after his graduation and worked his way across the country from Florida to Alaska to Massachusetts to Colorado. After that, he went off to "feed" the world. Brunei to Malaysia to the Maldives, Malta, Germany, France, Spain and Italy were among his culinary employment destinations.

After his tour, he decided to conquer a whole new career. This time, he wanted to try his hand as an entrepreneur. He bought a store that was a neighborhood deli, convenience store and butcher shop. The location of the place posted a lot of potential. For over a hundred years, there had always been an established business in the shop. Marty felt this was definitely a good sign. Adding to the equation was Marty’s knowledge of food. Unfortunately, Marty was about to find out he had figured it all wrong.
