Introduction

Well, here we are again, at a new turning point, and basking in the glow of the past accomplishments. What a wonderful gift to give yourself; to be able to understand your world and to make the right decisions to persevere, even when things seem a bit intense and frustrating, even hard.

For those of you who have been keeping up with my Hubs that have always laid out my current (pun?) position in life, my lessons, my growth and awareness, you know that I only write my hubs when I find myself frustrated, lost, or at a loss for how to move my checker piece (or chess?) forward.

In a way a hub is a great opportunity to nail down your thoughts so you can better map out your direction, and even see your results thus far. I often visit the past, present, and future in my hubs. Where I've been that got me to where I am now, where I'm going, and of course what I'm doing or need to do NOW to tied the whole quilt together into a beautiful security blanket of comfort.

Today's hub will surround my current dilemma, which is success in work clothes, but I thought I’d both share and learn from hindsight. Writing a hub gives you hindsight because this site helps you do it in such a productive way, almost as if they are providing the folders, you just have to label them (text capsule title) and then add the information you want (text in capsule) then adding a picture to tie the words to the emotion.

As I write my HubPages eBook a lot of great things are surfacing. I'm revisiting the moments when I started hubbing, when writing was but a dream to conquer, and in that same light I'm recycling those mental states to help me push forward in my current career state.

The topic of today's hub is all about what you must to, to get ahead in this making money online business, this copywritopia, and more. I'm not so much confused about my current next move, I see the board and all possible moves and their consequences, good and bad, but I needed to write it down to acquire my positive focus.

It’s all too easy to see the bad, the daunting, the sacrifice, the hard work, but although many positives exist we tend to become focused on one or the other. I see them at the same time but must balance the two to keep me focused, and persevering.

See the hard work, but realize it's necessary, see the sacrifice, but realize that one day that sacrifice will prove to be a brick, an investment in some amazing day in my future where I look back in retrospect and realize that had I not done that, this would not have been possible.

Let's get started. I write this hub during my workday, I'm overwhelmed a bit, and a bit frustrated, I'm hoping to filter that frustration here in a positive and uplifting way as to reinforce the positive side of the equation but show how the negatives, rather perceived negatives (much like going to the gym is hard but that burn, that painful muscle, that weakness when your so tired keeping your discipline to work out the full hour is impossible, is vitally important to everything else (health creates energy which resolves many problems with ambition etc..)) and the positives that are at play.

Sacrifice vs. Faith

When you first start out pursuing your dreams, you have to be well aware that there is no instant reward to keep track of or even expect. The reason many fail is because they want this reward and when it doesn't show up in a certain amount of time, they tend to think they are not getting enough for their time and work load. The cruel trick the universe has played on us, rather a lesson in patience, is that although we don't see progress in any form of tangible reward usually not before at least the first year of CONCENTRATED and rigorous effort, there are a lot of things in play.

The fact is that faith as the churches have been trying to drill in everyone’s heads for years and years is the key to wealth and success in life. Faith is the act of believing in something even without proof, or tangible or relative perception of what you’re getting for your effort (as far as business faith is concerned).

The most amazing thing I've ever heard was that someone who didn't fail there way to success, has not yet succeeded, rather they live in the illusion of perceived success, which is often short lived for without the foundation, the concrete foundation, that failure builds in you, the lessons you learn from failure, and the awareness that buds out of each and every failure, etched into your brain through the pencil of frustration, then the first time you hit a snag your success will crash like a windows PC when the program cannot find the parameter that tells it how to recover from the "illegal operation". .

We've all seen the "this program has caused an illegal operation and must be shut down..." error in the late 90's before Microsoft built a better operating system. Even Windows is the result of learning from failure, as I don't remember the last time i saw an "illegal operation" error on my PC.

Through all the trial and errors, customers complaints and many many upgrades, windows can now actually recover from an illegal operation (i.e. when a program hits a snag that has no routine in it's code to deal with it) through artificial intelligence, that even if the error is fatal will allow you to save your work, and 9 times out of ten the program can recover without crashing. Trying to be successful without failing is like trying to run a windows 98 machine with today's sophisticated programs and expecting it not to crash every 5 minutes.

The reality is that without faith in the universe doing its part when you do yours (work hard, learn all you can and just "know" that you will get yours in time; for many this is a form of karma, where you do good and life rewards you ten fold) then you won't get very far. You are justly rewarded for faith. In fact I tend to think that faith is the most valuable thing in the universe, prized more than gold because its end worth is priceless- nothing on earth can beat it in value.

With faith you put so many things in motion, but frictionless because you are not getting in your own way with selfishness or greed to feel payment right away for your work.

failures are the foundation builders of success. Success without failure is like a house without a foundation built on sand!

Failure is a VITAL and NECESSARY component to success and growth

Learning is it's own reward, is actually a very powerful phrase if your aware of what it actually means. Through learning we grow and can avoid pitfalls. Our failures take on a whole new meaning, especially when we see that failure is not bad, it's not even negative, in fact failure just lets you know there is a wrinkle that needs ironing in your plan and thus this gives you an opportunity to iron it and learn how to build a habit of ironing any future wrinkles like this automatically.

Failure is success in work clothes, success is failure graduated on a concrete foundation. If you never fail, you never build that concrete below your success. Your entire success building (pun) is without foundation. Imagine working in a building made with no reinforced beams, concrete, or foundation.

Sure it will stand nicely until the wind blows too hard, but its very integrity will falter. I wouldn't want to be successful this way. In fact those who do achieve success through failure, do not fall when things go horribly wrong. They are like a rubber ball and bounce, but the gravity of the fall itself just makes them bounce higher when they hit rock bottom. They always end up in a higher more stable place because they've learned not just how to become successful (mechanically i.e. learning how to do it) but in failing they've learned how to fall without landing on their knees, or head, and thus falling is just a minor inconvenience... they can walk it off. Those who didn't fail, have no idea what to do when it all goes to chit.

The universe has a revolving credit account in your name and at any given time you’re depositing into the worth of that account. You essentially deposit currency into this account every time you work towards your goal. If you don't have faith that changes the very value of your contribution because you'll feel cheated or disappointed if you concentrate on the reward now rather than later. If you concentrate on this will all be worth it, I leave it in the universes hands to handle the details of my reward, but right now I'm in the working stage of my dream, then you will have a faster, frictionless trip to your dream.

The irony is that we put way too much value on the short-run and almost none in the long run. Would you rather have 1.00 now or would you rather have a penny a day that would double every day for a year? That is today you get one penny (put into an account not your hands), tomorrow 2 pennies is deposited (now 3 cents in your account) then the next day 4 pennies... and so on.

Working towards your dream is like the pennies. If you expect the money now, you won't see any value in the pennies that double every day and later give you an enormous return on your investment, in fact to take this metaphor a step further, you don't even get to know that the pennies double, you don't even know they exist, but they do. If you have "faith" in the universe it will always come through. By universe you can take this as religious faith in god, or just in the very mechanics of our laws of physics, motion, cause effect, and so on. The system is perfect if you know how to surf the tides!

Faith is sacrifice without the stigma. The fact is it feels like sacrifice only when you contrast it with the reward you want NOW. When you have faith you don't think about the reward, you think about weather or not you’re stepping closer to your goal, and you realize that every baby step is just such a journey. When you don't concentrate on instant results/reward you tend to notice the progress your making more, because your reward is not just the dream manifest, it's enjoying the journey to your dream!

Good hub! I would definitely take the penny doubled every day for a year, although I fear that there isn't enough money in the world to pay me at the end of the year. :)
