Search engine submission versus doing it yourself can be a haunting question when you are fist starting out. Most people develop their site and upload it onto a server and notice those deals. These deals will say something along the lines of this. “We will submit your site to the top search engines for only $39.95. So this may sound like a great deal but if you are starting out you have already laid out money for graphic, pages, the site, hosting, and possibly other add on features. Not to mention your products. So the question comes. Do you need to pay for this? NO! Does this deal even really help you? NO! The answer is, you can do it yourself.

You can do this and it is simple to do. When you developed your site your keywords were of utmost importance in your tags as well as in your wording on the pages. So here is where you will use them when prompted to do so in the submission process. Have your keywords ready. Now it is time to submit.

Go to the following sites. Simple follow the directions and you can easily submit them yourself. You will find places where they will offer deals as well. Once again, you do not need to pay. Use the free submission over the paid. This will take time but it is well worth it.

The Search Engines:

MSN

HotBot

Yahoo

Google

Lycos

Dogpile

AOL

Ask.com

Open Directory

Now you want to go to the directories and once again follow the same instructions.

The Directories:

Yahoo! Directory

Best of The Web

Business.com

You can do it yourself and save money. Why have someone else do it for you? I have used these same techniques and the work. So you can do it too!
