Probably the only no risk business on the internet

Notice I said "no risk", but not "no work". While domain parking is one of the internet´s best kept secrets, it is also very lucrative, and one of my favorites.

So what exactly is domain parking?

Domain parking, in the traditional sense, is when you register a domain name for the sole purpose of showing ads on it (parking it) for revenue. Its really that simple.

Why no risk?

Well, when I say no risk, I am referring to the fact that you can "test" the domain names for traffic (and thus revenue), and cancel them within a 5 day period (118 hours), for a full refund of the registration fee (about $8). You don´t actually get the money back, it´s more of a credit to your account, but you can use it to repeat the process. You can even test as many domains as you want (domain tasting), and keep only those that have enough revenue to at least cover the yearly registration fee. The registrar that I recommend for testing your domains, without any kind of a fee, is Dynadot.com. As of this writing I am testing 8 domain names, some of which I have already canceled only to register them again "on the fly".

Where to park the domains?

Now that I have told you where to register the domain names "risk free". I want to tell you where to park the domain to get the parking revenue. Before I do, I just want to tell you how easy it is to add the domains to the parking company and start earning revenue. All you need to do is add the domains to your parking company account, and then set the nameservers at Dynadot to "point" to the parking company. You are usually given the parking company´s nameserver when adding the domains to you account.

NameDrive

NameDrive is my favorite parking company. Its very simple to sign-up with them, they are easy to use, and pay a decent amount per click. They are great if you have parked domains with foreign traffic from just about any country.

You can set the keyword for your domain (to chose what type of ads to appear), but the keyword have to be related to the domain.

They also have the most comprehensive customization options for your parked domains. You have literally hundreds of parking templates to make your parked domain look as much as possible like a regular website.

NameDrive also makes very prompt payments, usually paying out on the 8th of the month for the previous months earnings. I get payed via PayPal.

You can sign-up for NameDrive.

For now I am going to leave you with this information, which should get you started, but I will probably do a whole series of hubs on domain parking.
