Don't Forget About The Mom

As a first time mom way back when I remember getting lots of things for the baby at my baby shower and at Christmas. She was due near the end of the year and on Christmas all I got was things for the baby and nothing really for myself. Now I am not saying be jealous of the baby. What I am saying is don't forget the mom-to-be. She has carried this child in her body for quite awhile. When shopping for the Baby Shower, just pick some things up for the new mommy-to-be. I am positive she will appreciate it.

Some suggestions:

  1. Books to read as she waits for the arrival.
  2. Soothing Music--for her--and also can be played for the baby--while waiting to be born or after or both. I played soothing music while I was pregnant with my oldest daughter and I do believe that is why she was a quiet baby when she was born.
  3. Pillows for her back at night and she can also use these in the hospital.
  4. Something that she loves--find out her passion and or her cravings.
  5. Gift cards for new clothes when she is done with the maternity ones.

While being and waiting to be a new mommy she deserves some attention too--so Don't forget about the Mom....and maybe the new dad too.
