Biased Indian Media

The people of India cannot trust the Indian media specially the English media. At least that is what is being alleged by many people in India. Many are voicing concerns about the neutrality of the English speaking media. Some claim that they are “psedosecularists” that is just pretending to be a secular. Many people are of the view that these channels are being funded by communists and missionaries. For example, it is well known that NDTV is run by Prannoy Roy who is the brother-in-law of Prakash Karat (Prakash Karat is the chief of Communist party of India). It can be speculated that both brother and sister might have same thinking but how that reflects that in the day to day running of the channel can be questioned. One just has to switch to the channel and make their own judgments. Some people are viewing their concerns that NDTV is biased and is working for the Communists and for the Congress Party of India. I have seen many blogs and websites complaining about them and even you tube videos have sprung up ridiculing them.

The truth about our "SECULAR" Indian media

Dark side of India and Indian Media

It has been alleged (on Wikipedia) that NDTV broadcasted live coverage of the Mumbai attack against the Home Ministry directives. NDTV is the only Indian news channel allowed to be aired in Pakistan hence the attackers knew about the commandos storming of the Taj Hotel. This cost considerable lives. Another controversy surrounding NDTV is that during the Kargil War against Pakistan, one of its journalists asked the solider to fire the Bofors gun specifically for the news. How much these allegations are true is unknown. Interestingly they did issue a statement clarifying their position.
