Dora the Explorer debuted on Nickelodeon in 1999, and has become one of the favorite shows for today's toddlers. The educational goals of the show is to teach children basic Spanish words and phrases math and music skills, physical coordination, observing situations and solve problems. On each episode, Dora embarks on an exploring adventure, which either helps someone or finds something. Dora engages the young viewers by asking for help getting to around with the help of Map, the travel guidance helper. Dora's best friend is Boots the Monkey, so named because he only wears his beloved reds boots. Boots accompanies Dora on all her adventures helping her solve the puzzles and clues that encounter. Dora uses catchy songs and phrases to teach him Spanish. Swiper a sneaky fox, who steals or attempts to steal key items, hinders Dora's adventures. The Fiesta Trio - a grasshopper, snail and a frog - congratulate Dora when she completes each portion of the adventure. A magic satchel Backpack stores the supplies which Dora needs to complete her adventures. Isa the Iguana is a close friend of Boots and Dora who loves to grow flowers. The shows popularity has transferred over to some of the more classical games, which take on a "Dora the Explorer" theme to continue the learning of our toddlers.

Here are some of my favorite Dora the Explorer Games which require more action from our kids to get them moving to develop their gross motor skills.

Franklin Mini Dora the Explorer Pop-Up Goal

This Dora the Explorer game is ideal for rising soccer stars, helping them to master their gross motor skills. This game pops up, folds down and stored in a backpack to make it easier to take along anywhere and store. It has realistic goal mesh netting and great for children from the ages of 2 years.

Nickelodeon Dora Star Catcher Bowling

This Dora the Explorer Games is also great to take with when visiting relatives or friends without kids. It is easy to set up in a passage. This game creates the feel of a real bowling alley with automatic ball return and electonic shound and pin reset. The bowling balls are also just the right size for kids hands.
