Online dating has become the singles bar of the 2000's. With sites such as Match.com,Eharmony, Cupid.com, Ashley Madison and many others, people are finding it easier and much less of a gamble than letting your mother set you up with the butchers son. Some sites are geared towards relationships, some towards sex and others somewhere in between. Choosing the right site will help you prepare for what is on the other end of that email.
There are plenty of seas for the fish
Single people are everywhere online. They reside in not only the dating sites, but on MySpace, Facebook, Craigslist and on the sexual offenders website. In oder for you to find what is best suited for your needs you must be honest about what you are looking for and how serious you are. Most of the dating sites have a fee and most offer free trials. The social sites are free but geared towards other things than getting you some nookie. Some providers offer free dating portals such as Yahoo but these get messy because they are free and well, Yahoo sucks at almost everything.
The main sites for " romance"
When one thinks of online dating, visions of two people running towards each other in a poppy field may come to mind or maybe just a date for a funny movie. For now we will assume that these sites are for the pure romantics at heart.
Cupid.com prides itself on being different than the others by not using some scientific formula to bring people together. Instead of filling out long questionares with boring information that is about as insightful as me telling you I forget to lift the seat up, this site lets you decide what issues are most important.
Chemistry.com seeems to offer a little more help and information for those who aren't sure what to do.
Eharmony is another big site, maybe even the biggest. They pride themselves on using their trademarked " Scientific Matching System" to help you find your soulmate. I usually rely on beer, how close it was to last call and the path of least resistence but maybe I could use a "scientific Matching System"
Match.com has been around since 1995 and offers several different platform to find your next wedding date. They use what they call " Match Words" to facilitate lovebirds. I assume their criteria reach beyond " hot" "rich" "nice" and " big breasted". And get this...if you don't find someone in 6 months, they will give you an additional 6 months for free!..I mean thats like complaining your hamburger sucked and getting 6 more for free!
Maybe you just want some hot loving
Some sites are set up for the primal urges, and no i'm not talking about Sudoku. For some people they are just looking for some hot loving ( bows head in shame) and these sites cater to us..I mean them.
Adultfriendfinder is perhaps the largest site of its kind. Penthouse magazine bought the site and that just makes it naughtier.
Eroticy offers several different platforms to choose from thereby assuring you that the right person may not be right the next night.
AshleyMadisonopenly admits that it is a site that joins married people for affairs. I know the thought of married people having affairs is just ridiculous, but then again so are $5000 a night hookers so.....

I think I know what your problem with dating has been. I recognize that by posting a picture of your dog in your Hubpages acoount you are a homosexual. Apparently you are not aware of this fact, but I think if you open your mind to the idea that any guy who posts a picture of his dog on a website is an openly flambouyant 'maneater' or closet queer low on both testosterone and pride.
Try some websites like www.Iwonttellifyouwont.com or www.we'reherewe'requeergetusedtoit.com I think if you try other avenues, your bound to find your perfect match...or at least a 'snug fit'.

I am sure you are just trying to be helpful, but I do not get this impression from Funnebone at all. He is just a really nice guy with a sense of humor. I post all sorts of pictures on my profile, but it does not mean anything. Also, hubs are written to inform people, so he was just informing people about an issue. Funnebone is a really nice hubber.

I was walking to the bathroom in a gay bar I frequent ready to haze an effeminate college boy I saw walking to a stall. Suddenly, I felt what I can only describe as 'pure love' beaming through my entire body. I'm sure that's when you were praying for me.

This is good and comprehensive survey of all the dating sites. One thing I can say is all the site have pretty much delivered the same results in my experience. For instance, the men tended to be just as up for casual encounters on Christian Singles as they were on match.com, but this really was not my thing so I passed on both. However, I really am not into dating and I think I will find my soulmate if and when it is meant to happen, but these sites are great tools for those who want to up their chances of meeting that special person. Good hub!
