Affiliate Marketing 101
If you are looking to find out all about affiliate marketing, there is
no better place than the internet. However, with the internet comes the
biggest problem of all; sifting through all the garbage websites in
order to find the hidden gem that will lead you to your thousands.
I
can tell you one thing though, it is definitely not an easy task and if
you come across any site that tells you it is and promises to show you
how you can make it big time by paying them a fee, give it a wide berth
because it's total BS.
Therein lies your first lesson: nothing
in life is easy when it comes to making money and that includes
affiliate marketing so DON'T get sucked in.
At the end of the
day, whatever you choose to do, you will get as much out of affiliate
marketing as you put into it, therefore the more effort on your part,
the better the results.
And truth be told, I can by no means be
called a pro at affiliate marketing. I am simply an online blogger
who's main aim is to learn as much as I can about the tips and tricks
of online marketing, before I start working my own site. However, I
have in my travels stumbled upon numerous blogs that provide valuable
insight into the dos and don'ts of affiliate marketing. So I thought of
combining my research into one page, in an organized place so not only
do other people benefit from the tips and advice, but I myself will get
a chance to better understand the world of affiliate marketing.
The Do's and Don'ts
The Do's
DO Share The "Good Offers" With Your Affiliates
DO Make It Difficult For Affiliates To "Borrow" Codes From Other Websites Or Channels
DO Provide affiliates with landing pages that have the discount embedded in them.

Provide affiliates with codes that are specific to their site, but only
If you must use a discount code but are trying to prevent "borrowing",
DO Make The Discount Obvious To The Consumer
DO
Make sure you google the website name and add "review" at the end to
see what other people are saying about it. I personally find yahoo
answers is also a good place to go with this.
The Don'ts
DON'T Get sucked into fancy words used
in provocative ways, such as the pbvious "get rick quick", or " make
$1000 in a day", but also the ones that claim they made a million
dollars ut don't show any legitimate proof.
DON'T Exclude Popular Items Or Top Sellers From The Offer
DON'T
Promote a product that had high competition. Typically it should have
less than 10,000 pages when it is searched in apostrophes
