Dr. Shettles discovered that the "timing" of intercourse had a profound effect on the gender of the baby conceived. Why? Because a woman ovulates (a fresh egg develops) once a month, and by having sex to conceive within about a two day window of ovulation (two days before until two days after) you can raise your chance of conceiving a boy baby by giving the small speedy "boy" sperm a chance to win the race to the fresh waiting egg, which results in a baby boy.

By having intercourse to conceive outside that window (two days before until two days after ovulation) you give the boy sperm time to die off, leaving only the longer-lived "girl" sperm the opportunity to fertilize the egg resulting in the baby girl you want.

A mother-to-be's ph can seriously effect the survival of sperm, especially the weaker boy sperm. By creating a more acidic vaginal ph, you can make survival for the boy sperm very difficult, favoring the girl sperm, and resulting in that beautiful little baby girl you been wanting. And, conversely, by creating a more alkaline ph you can allow the boy sperm to survive long enough to win the race to the waiting egg and produce the baby boy you need to bring balance to your family.

Controlling your ph goes hand in hand with the timing of sex to conceive discussed above, in that the correct ph vaginal environment, coupled with the correct timing will almost assure success (you got to get everything right though!)

Seems odd that the positions you have sex in can effect whether you conceive a girl or boy, doesn't it? Well, think about it, if you want to conceive a baby boy, you should have intercourse in positions that deposit the sperm as close to the fresh waiting egg as possible. (rear entry (doggie style) or missionary with the woman's legs pushed up by her head) are both good.

If a baby girl is desired you should practice very shallow penetration during sex to conceive as this will give the sperm a long way to travel, which should result in the more fragile boy sperm dying off leaving only the longer-lived girl sperm left to do the deed.
