For many of you who read my blogs know that I am an obese man who is making an emergency call ( i.e. Fatman 911) and that my situation has been aggravated by the fact that I was just recently laid off, which means no money, no health insurance, and when my unemployment runs out, very, very, very limited prospects for work, and in this economy, well you get the picture. Let me lay out some particulars, I’m 54 years old, and I don’t know what I weight, when I was in the hospital some two years ago I was over 500lbs, neither the doctors nor I have a scale large enough to weight me, so if I’ve gained or lost I have no why of knowing (some of my clothes fit tighter so I think I’ve gained?)
Anyway I struggle with many issues, one of which I think is depression, I really do not have a relish for life, I tried seeing a doctor about that a few years back, and we tried 3 or 4 different medications none of which seemed to do anything for me, it was also the same time that I found out that I had sleep apnea, and because I stopped breathing some 200 times a night, I was tired all the time, because I fixed that with a bipap machine I stopped going to see the shrink, I still don’t have a relish for life but at least I’m not exhausted all the time.
I live in a Studio apartment, one room living at it’s best, a bed, a refrigerator a TV and a computer, and not much else, no chair or desk, no other room other than a bath room. So I spend most of my time either sitting at the edge of my bed or laying down, my body’s getting weaker, I can hardly stand up or walk 10 feet without breathing heavily, the only time I leave my house is to buy food or take out the garbage, and that’s a big effort.
I need help, I can’t afford to see a doctor, My unemployment is going to run out in a month or so, and in my present condition who would hire me, I was working with the mentally handicapped for the past 8 years, a place noted for tolerance and understanding, but of course when funding was reduced because of the economic downturn, I was the first to go. Now where do I turn?I was wondering the web searching for any type of solution to my problems, I ran across “The Dr. Phil Show” web site they are going to be doing a program on “Amazing weight loss stories” but they added a question: Do you know someone who weighs over 500 lbs and needs a doctor's help? I know it’s a long shot but there is a slim chance that’s a place for me to turn.
And so I ask you to help me. Please!!!! take a moment or two and go to the link below and recommend that they help me direct them to my profile page http://hubpages.com/profile/FatMan911 They should be able to contact me from there, I also have sent them applications with my real name and number and directed them to my hubpages, but if I can get a groundswell of support, just maybe I, with your help, can save my life. Thank you and please pass this along to anyone who would be willing to help, it would only take a few moments out of your life, but it could save mine.
