Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3

There can be little doubt that Dragonball Z was probably one of, if not the anime show that put Japanese animation into the English-language entertainment market to stay. Dragonball Z was one of the original Toonami shows on Cartoon Network that generated incredible afternoon ratings and merchandising revenue.

The Dragonball universe certainly has no great shortage of video game spinoffs. The Budokai series features a completely free form 3D fighting genre which includes all of the exaggerated powerups, attacks and energy blasts that made the show so popular with anime fans and afternoon cartoon audiences.

What the new Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi game offers is rather compelling, and that is a release on the Nintendo Wii. Given the enthusiastic reaction to the swordfighting mechanic in the Legend of Zelda Wii release, it should prove interesting to see what can be done with a true fighting game. Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 is set to be released in October of 2007.
