Drama Songs
79You know what teenagers love? More than pizza, more than illegal alcohol consumption, even more than new haircuts??? Drama. Yes, Drama. Teenagers positively THRIVE on drama. What would the world come to if so-and-so didn't cheat on you with ‘that slut' and ‘shatter your heart', even though you aren't really sure whether or not you have ‘feelings' for your ‘best friend' (of course, you met said best friend on a social networking site two weeks ago)? What, I ask you. The world would stop on its axis! Everything would be going against you and your life would, like, totally suck, dude!
So, yeah. Drama. Lots of drama. And what is drama without the right music? I mean, if you're going through a day where nothing's happening to you and you really miss that drama, what do you do? You sit down, take out a journal, and play some music! And for the dramatic mood to elevate to the extent that you get some really good stuff in your head to write in that journal, you need the right kind of music. So here's my list.
SONGS TO ELEVATE ‘EMOTIONAL TURMOIL'.
- Everything You Want - Vertical Horizon (Nice subject matter, something along the lines of WHY DON'T YOU LIKE ME?????)
- Addicted - Simple Plan (Ah, unrequited love. Don't we all just adore unrequited love?)
- Creep - Radiohead (More of what we already got before. Also a little bit of NOTICE ME!!!!!!!)
- Deep - Binocular (This song doesn't even mean anything, so I guarantee you're gonna love it.)
- One Step Closer - Linkin Park (They scream ‘shut up'! What more could you want?)
- Perfect - Simple Plan (Simple Plan is GREAT for teenage melodrama. They really are.)
- Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd (And then you could pretend you're on a higher intellectual plane than everybody, although really, you have no idea what the lyrics mean. But you plan to Wikipedia it in the near future, so that should be all right, eh?)
- One Last Breath - Creed (This song will help you overreact to your compilation of troubles sufficiently, to the point that you're satisfied.)
- Last Resort - Papa Roach (More stuff you can overreact to.)
- Drops of Jupiter - Train (There's something so vaguely poetic about this song, it appeals to your melodramatic sensibilities. The less understandable a song is, the more useful it is for drama tantrums.)
- Burn - Usher (Yes, it's going to BURN for you to say this. Of course it is.)
- The Reason - Hoobastank (Oh the mistakes you've made, if only we knew. IF ONLY *sob*)
- Beautiful Letdown - Switchfoot (This is the QUEEN of drama songs. Look at the name!)
- Boulevard of Broken Dreams - Green Day (How could I forget this one? Another song where the name tells you exactly what to expect).
- The Scientist - Coldplay (Nobody said it was easy.)
When I can think of more, I will put them up. Till then, this is the list. This should help you when you want to lock yourself up, cry a little, channel your rage into creativity and overdramatize the crap out of everything. When you're done, you will realize how trivial it all is, and then you can switch on the TV. All's well that ends well, especially if you end up watching all access and laughing at somebody else's misfortunes.

I know I know... and yet, I have two very Indian parents, and I've lives here all my life! I guess you could divide Indians into those that watch American television, those that don't, and those who don't have televisions, being the poverty-stricken masses that they are. And it is true that we have a lot of markets, but if you ever do take a trip to here, be warned: your pocket is GOING to be picked. I might write a hub about this: What to visit in India if you're sick to death of the stuff they show you on National Geographic.
I liked the music list and the little comments -- although I did go, "Aw, I fail," when you listed two of my fave songs. :( Hope I'm not a drama queen.
You have a very strong voice in your work that I really enjoy -- I've never met you, but I think I can imagine exactly how you speak and express yourself.
And a hub on what to visit in India would be beyond awesome.
Oh, don't worry, I absolutely LOVE most of these songs. They're not NECESSARILY for drama, yknow. They just would be great if you needed drama sometime.
Its over. You rule. This is so the best one by far.
Well I do like the songs but nit just for drama. The drama at my school is insane it is hard to believe that the thing that take place at our school to me seem worse than the stuff that goes on in mean girls and everone wants me to pick a side or they have to tell me how much one girl thinks the other is a slut and she is an angle! I wish all the drama would go away and people sould just grow up!!!!

Wow. When I dived into this one I expected to read about the 'normal' drama goings on of the adolescent youth.. but you've reinvented cool here. I like the music and great comments beside each one.. nice touch.. again your sarcasm is very refreshing.. I love it! and here I was convinced that life in india was nothing like the united states.. then again I've never been there or even seen the real india.. why is it on television all you see is the "market" in india? I may need to take a trip out there and catch up.. you sound like you live here!
