What in the World....

Have you ever woken up from a dream wondering why you were thinking of someone you've not seen in years? Well, chances are good that either you talked about or recently thought of that person.. We often dream about things that happened to us during the week or possibly talked about, we also dream about things we want to do or places we want to be. However, dreams can be very confusing because one second you're at your house and the next you're at the park. I often dream about books that I am reading and sometimes assume the role of the main character. Dreams are definitely unique to each person and remain a mystery, at least to me.

Do Dreams Have Meaning?

Speaking honestly, I really don't know the answer to that question. I have done a little research on the subject and can't figure out what to make of it. Does a TV falling on your foot in a dream mean your going to come into money soon? I don't know, but considering I had this dream recently, I certainly hope so. Does dreaming of being pregnant and then suddenly not, does this mean you're barren? I sure don't want that. All in all, I think dreams have no specific meaning to them but are our minds way of releasing unwanted thoughts or we may possible retain information we need and have picked up along the way.

Problem Solving in Dreams?

I believe you have the ability to solve problems in your dreams. Unfortunately, we then to either forget our dreams quickly or we don't remember them at all. Dreams usually coming during the R.E.M. stage of sleep, if you are woken up after your R.E.M. stagechanges are you will not remember your dream at all. If you want to remember them, I suggest keeping a small notebook and pen by the bed. Afterall, who knows what we can figure out when we're asleep.

Reoccurring Dreams.

I have had reoccurring dreams that I can recall in vivid detail. Do they keep coming back due to reasons we can't fully understand or maybe they come out of fear or love of something or from a dream that you particularly enjoyed. For instance my reoccurring dreams are of airplanes exploding or crashing near at hand, a roller coaster that seems to be a thousand feet tall, these two dreams scare me to my toes. Also, I have one about a band I particularly like, there is never sex in these dreams, just a sense of euphoria. So, in my opinion, I think they come out of fear and love.

Nightmares, oh no!

These are no fun for anyone. I think they are our minds way of releaing our anxiety, fears, or worries. I once had a nightmare about my nephew getting killed, I called as soon as I woke up to check on him. I think that constitues worry. You could have nightmares about somebody trying to harm or kill you, that falls under the category of fear in my book.  Perhaps you have dreamptabout your partner having an affair or dying. Surely that is anxiety. So what can you do, some people say dream catchers work and some people say not to have your bed lined directly under a beam in your house. I say, figure out you're dreaming and wake the hell up!

I totally agree. Sometimes dreams mean something and sometimes they mean nothing. My favorite dream is the one where i can fly.It makes me feel free of any care in the world.Interesting hub Ms.M. You pick very good subjects.
