Dreambox 8000 is one of the popular digital TV receiver products of the German firm Dreambox Multimedia. A Dreambox is used for receiving satellite, terestial, and cable TV programs.

The complete model name is Dreambox DM 8000 HD PVR. It uses a 400 Mhz processor that supports the LInux TV API (Television Advanced Programmer's Interface).

Dreambox 8000 uses MPEG-2 / h.264 decoding for fast and efficient audio and video performance. It interfaces thru a 10/100MBit compatible Ethernet Interface.

Dreambox 8000 supports DVD, and t uses a twin-DVB-S2 tuner with optional DVB-C or DVB-T connections. It also sports a big OLED display for clear front panel display.

Also, besides being a plug & play device, Dreambox 8000 can be used for mixing with other video sources.
