Dreaming Of "The Good Life"

What is your dream?

Dreaming of the good life. That looks different for all of us, doesn't it? My dream is probably completely different than yours is. It doesn't matter what your dream is. What matters is if you have a way of making that dream come true. Can you have what you desire in life? What's your dream? What are you going to do in order to have your hearts desire? Do you have a plan on how you are going to achieve it?

Here's my dream. Like I said, it may be different than yours, so as you read this, try to focus on the details of my dream. Then think about yours. Think about the details. Write it down if you want. Some people make a "dream board" and put pictures on it of things they want most. This gives you a focal point and puts your dream right in front of you. When you look at it, you will find a way to achieve it.

OK, here's mine.

I want to live in a brand new house in the country. I want the house to resemble an old style farm house. The inside of the house has three floors. A basement, first floor and second floor. The basement is where all the regular stuff is like the furnace, laundry room, water heater, etc.

The first floor has an open concept. There is a large kitchen with all the latest gadgets and separate dining room with a table large enough to hold a small army for anytime but especially for the holiday's. There is a den with lots of entertainment, a living-room for entertaining guests, an office for my home based network marketing business, a bathroom and an exercise room.

The second floor is where the bedrooms are along with a large bathroom, walk in closet and sitting room. The one detail I don't have yet is the color theme throughout but it will probably be soft, muted colors with light airy curtains on the windows.

Lets go outside

There will be a nice wrap around porch looking out at our magnificent view of the setting sun each evening or if you go around to the other side you can watch the rising sun each morning. It is really a spectacular view and the reason we bought this property. There are lovely fields that go out from the house to the surrounding woods where deer can be seen almost any time of the day or evening. The turkeys are also around a lot. I love to watch the wild life and nature.

In the garage is my new motorcycle. It's a Harley Davidson sport bike. It is electric blue and black and it's fast. I also have a 1973 completely restored Corvette, Stingray. This car is black with a tan interior. These two things are something I've wanted for a long time. They are a lot of fun.

So, there you go. That is one of my dreams. If I sat here long enough, I could write a few more, but.....

I have a point to make.

How am I ever going to get all of this working a regular job with no salary increase in the foreseeable future? This dream is going to be very costly. I have a couple of choices, of course.

1. I could get another job.

2. I could hope to win the lottery. ( it's at 100 million today)

3. I might have an inheritance coming. :-)

4. My husband could get another job.

5. I could go back to school and then get a better paying job.

These are the only options I had up until recently. The thought of working another job was overwhelming. The chances of winning the lottery are slim to none. I do not have an inheritance coming. Going back to school starts me back at the beginning and now with a bunch of loans I have to pay for. It doesn't look like I can have my dream. Maybe I should just settle for what I have and be grateful. I'll just put my dream aside and focus on getting by.

OR NOT

I don't want to settle for what I have. Don't get me wrong, I am grateful for what I have, but.....I have a dream and I am willing to work hard for it. What can I do?

I have found a vehicle that will get me to where I want to go in life. It's called Internet Network Marketing. I know, I know, you're probably ready to close this hub right now.

WAIT!!!!

It's not what you've heard from the past! Network Marketing has evolved. It's not the same as it was back in the 50's when you had to go out door to door and chase people trying to get them to join your opportunity. It's not like that anymore.

Let me tell you exactly what Network Marketing is.

Network Marketing is a way of distributing products to consumers through a network of distributors who are all working as independent contractors. People who "join" an network marketing or multi-level marketing company do so as an independent. This means that you are in business for yourself. You are the boss and the success or failure of your business is dependent on you. You own and operate your business from home, part time, until it is creating enough income to satisfy you. You can stop at an income of, say, $100.00 per month or you can reach for the stars and have an income of thousands per month. It's all up to you and how much effort you put into it.

The reason that you are able to make as much money as you want is because when you tell others about your business and they open their own business as a result of you telling them about yours, you receive money from their efforts. Now, different companies go about this differently. Some will give you a portion of what everyone else is doing. Lets say, for instance, you have a friend join your business opportunity as an independent. Every time she/he makes a sale, you earn a portion of that sale even though you didn't actually make the sale yourself. So, can you see how this can be so extremely profitable? Let's say you have 100 people join you as "business partners". You now have 100 people making sales and distributing goods and you earn money from each and every sale done by any one of them. This is how you can leverage your time. This is how huge amounts of money can be earned through this incredible business model, called network marketing.

Here's Wikipedia's discription.

Network Marketing compensation plans come in many different forms as well. They are as follows.

  1. The Breakaway
  2. The Uni-level
  3. The Matrix
  4. The Binary.

Let me see if I can explain each one.

First is The Breakaway

This is the oldest and most traditional of the comp plans. It allows distributors to recruit and be paid on an unlimited number of front-line associates. When leaders emerge by meeting the basic requirements set forth by the company, they "break away" from their up-line executives, thereby forming there own organisations. In a breakaway compensation plan, leaders receive a commission on unlimited levels generated by everyone within their own circle volume and based on the number of "breakaway" leaders on their front-line, they are paid a commission on a designated number of levels of their breakaway groups. Even though a larger percentage is generally paid on the circle volume, the real money is made in the massive numbers generated in the breakaway groups.

Second is The Uni-level

The uni-level comp plan essentially pays commissions on a specific number of levels, as opposed to generations that can run to depths of twenty or more, as designated by the company. A uni-level comp plan has no breakaway system. To really succeed with this type of comp plan, you need to recruit significant numbers to your front-line. The more people you have on your front-line, the more people you will have on levels six, seven, eight, or however far down the plan pays.

Third is The Matrix

The matrix plan is inherently limiting as a comp plan by its very definition. Let's consider the 3 x 7 matrix as an example: you are on top, and have 3 on your front-line. Your second level is 9, third 27, and eventually your seventh level is 2,187. Your entire organisation, if filled up would, compensate you for a total of only 3,279 people. Many of the top leaders in this industry have organisations of tens or hundreds of times larger than this. This is literally a case of converting an unlimited opportunity into a limited income position.

Forth is The Binary

The binary is the most recent hybrid in the chain of new compensation plans. If you liked the matrix, you will love the original binary. The premise here is that all you need to do is sponsor two front-line individuals , who are called your "Business Centres." Once you have your two, teach them to duplicate what you have just done, and poof, your rich! Not in most cases as companies require distributors to balance the sales volumes of each leg. If left on their own, each side tends to grow at radically different paces, and distributors are only paid on the lower of the two sides in their binary shaped organisation.

So, there are four of the compensation plans. There are probably more, but you get the idea.

So, which one is best? That is an individual choice. I think some are harder to build than others. I chose "The Binary" for myself. Some think this one is difficult too, but for me it made sense and that is what each person has to decide.

What's Your Dream?

OK, so now you've seen one of my dreams and what vehicle I plan on using to get there. I have chosen a network marketing business using "The Binary" compensation plan. I have also implemented Attraction Marketing in with the network marketing business I have chosen and now I have a marketing machine. By incorporating the Internet, the sky is the limit. Just think, I can work anywhere, part time, in my pj"s, with an Internet connection. The amazing freedom this allows me is mind boggling. I'm not tied to any one place, ever, because of my job.

So, I'll bet you have a dream, don't you? Do you have a plan in place to help you achieve it? If so, GREAT! Good for you! If you don't, check into network marketing. I have some idea's for some great companies. You can find them on my blog, Attraction Marketing Online You can also learn how to effectivley market any business you choose online using the stradigies outlined on some other pages there.

Together we all can find success and have our dream, whatever that happens to be. I wish you the very best of luck in achieving your dream and if I can help you do that, I would be more than happy to.

Michelle,

I think the important thing here is that you have a dream and a plan; not just a dream. Also, you are putting your plan into action. You'll acheive those dreams!

Hi Michelle,

I really like this article. I like all the directions you took it and the way you tied it together around a dream. And I think "we're" measured proportionately with the amount of energy we spend pursuing our dreams.

Also, I followed the link "customized nutritional regimen"...wow! How cool. What a great idea (especially with the holidays coming up).

Best luck with your dream. Seems to me, you're on your way. I can hear that Harley now.

Hi Michelle,

I applaud you for going for your dreams! And for helping and inspiring the rest of us to reach for ours. Too many people have given up on their dreams... or maybe they never had any to begin with?

I don't know... but when you said, "Maybe I should just settle for what I have and be grateful." it really struck a chord with me. I've actually been told this is what a "normal parent" would do. Basically, I should give up my dreams and "get a job"

The point is there's always someone willing to pull you down. Someone who will try to steal your dream and hold you back. It makes them feel better about giving up on their dreams.

NEVER LET THEM!

Keep Dreaming, Keep Striving, Keep Moving Forward! Live Your Dreams!

When I was growing up and came up with some wonderful (but a tad crazy!) idea, my folks would say "Quit dreaming"! Now, when my kids do the same thing, I say "Great ~ let's come up with a plan!"

Linking the dreams with a plan ~ that's the key to success!!!

Thanks for the reminder, Michelle ;-)

Thanks all of you for the kind words. It's all about the dream and how to get it. When you find a way to get what you want in life you just have to spread the good news. I'm glad you guys like this hub. Working on another. See you soon.

Hola Michelle,

Wow you really slap me back to focus on my dreams. Without goals and dreams there is no point on working hard. I have a visualization board where I put pictures of my goals and dreams. I wish you dreams come to true and I’m sure you are almost there.

Best Regards and Blesses,

Franklin

It is so easy to lose sight of your dreams when you get so busy. Thanks for helping me to bring things back in focus. And great overview of the different compensation plans. I have bookmarked this as I will refer people to this.

Cheers! Doug

Michelle,

What a great hub! It's a sad fact that when you have a dream there are more people wanting to bring you down then help you achieve that dream. Don't ever give up! Keep dreaming and working that plan to achieve your dream. I'm working on mine. When you get that home and invite us all over I'll be the one driving up in the Mercedes SL550 Roadster.
