Designing The Right Dress For Wedding

One of the most anticipated and elaborate design carried out in a wedding event is the bride's gown. More often than not, simplicity is set aside on this aspect as the bride is made to look her best as she walks down the aisle. Every minute detail rendered by the couture designer should embody the image of a perfect bride: pure, pristine, and downright awe inspiring. The perfect dress for wedding occasions is usually in white, as it is the symbol of purity. Throughout the many years of wedding traditions, white has never been replaced by any other color for the bride.

There are many basic designs as a basis for any dress for wedding occasions. There is the usual long gown, complete with an overflow, the kind of gown usually seen being swept gracefully along the church aisle. There is also the balloon type, which gives a Victorian look of sophistication and elegance. For both types, the lower part of the wedding gown should be just at least covering the whole legs up to the heels. There may be radical designs which would be short, but normal wedding traditions require a long one.

The upper part of the wedding dress may bare the shoulders, or fully covered. A retro fashion of the 1800's may render a full neck covered gown of see through lace until the shoulder area. Though this may be preferred by some, it may give an overall image of solemnity. Fully covered gowns are perfect to denote grace and classic beauty, while the more modern shoulder bared design give both elegance and modernist class. In any upper wedding dress, it is highly advised to avoid backless or plunging designs as it would be improper for the solemn environment of the church and the wedding event's meaning.

The veil may be the smallest and thinnest garment in any dress for wedding occasions, but it is probably one of the most symbolic in ratio to its size. The veil of a bride only denotes one thing, and that is to preserve the beauty and identity of the bride for the groom as they offer themselves in Holy matrimony. All veils either are covered or uncovered. The covered ones mask the face of the bride with a thin lace and is classical in nature. It also serves the purity aspect more intensely. Modern veils may not have to cover the face anymore as the symbol of being placed on top of the head may already suffice the notion of submission and passivity during this special occasion.

The right dress for wedding should not only be about glamour or external beauty. It should embody the inner beauty and cleanliness of the bride's personality.
