Dresses For Women – A Guide On How to Save Money

Dresses for women come in so many different styles its difficult to find a store which has more than one category of styles from which to choose. Most stores specialize in, for example, formal wear or bridal wear. Of course, there department stores which may carry different styles of dresses, however, department stores have numerous other clothing lines which don't leave much room for many styles of dress. This leaves the Internet for finding different places to buy dresses.

There are many web shops that carry various forms of dress styles, but there are places to find every style of dress you want. The main problem with buying merchandise from the web, is that there are always charges for shipping and handling. You can usually avoid paying these extra charges by shopping at stores which offer free shipping for purchase amounts exceeding a set number, or for those customers that follow certain restrictions on the website. For example; Amazon.com has certain merchandise which qualifies for free shipping and also has another free shipping option for certain amounts.

When I go shopping I tend to spend most of my time on one website, but perhaps you need more specific dresses from designers which are not available everywhere. It's not easy to just walk out your door and find the specific dresses you want. Even more frustrating is finding dresses you don't want and not having money left over to buy what you needed! (yes I'm guilty of this way too much)

Yesterday I was sitting down thinking about all the places there are to buy dresses for women and it occurred to me that if you look at the Internet like one big shopping mall, you are sure to find exactly what you want. And if you're careful you can get it shipped for free.

How to Save Money Buying Dresses For Women Online

With all the savings you can get from buying online, you may be wondering why its so important to find free shipping. Take, for example, a dress that you find discounted online nearly 20% off any department store prices. If this dress, lets say its $150.00 at the local department store, but you're paying a price online for $120.00. Pretty good savings in my book and of course shipping isn't going to be $30 for a dress right? Well that depends. Many shops can charge for handling as well. This means they charge you for packing the dress into a box, and since some stores don't monitor this charge, you can be charged any amount. It pays to read the fine print of shipping costs. This is usually for large web sites that house different auctions and stores from outside sources, like Amazon and Ebay. I remember once I was charged $6.00 handling fee for a printer that was shipped, and that was on top of the nearly $10 shipping charge (of course this was back when Ebay was young, the 90s). It's simple to avoid these charges by reading what the seller charges. For Amazon, it's especially easy as they state very clearly what they charge for shipping. Ebay's sellers have their own rules for each auction. Reputable dealers won't charge an excessive handling fee.

So we've discussed shipping and handling, now its important to discuss store quality. Each web store has its own policy. Before you begin to shop on a website, navigate to its shipping policies and charges. If you're satisfied with the prices for shipping, then continue to shop at the store. Too many times I've found exactly what I wanted at a great price, only to be shocked and disgusted by the cost for shipping.

It seems evident to me, if not the stores, that when buying dresses for women, I don't want to be buying UPS, or USPS, for that matter. Often times a store will offering different kinds of shipping. This is the very best of the web stores. You can tell the quality of a store by just checking if it offers you the shipping you want. Super Fast and super expensive (usually next day air), Fast and expensive (2nd day air), normal delivery and inexpensive, slow and dirt cheap. I can't ever see any reason to not go with the slow and dirt cheap method, myself, however, I suppose if you have to have that dress, you have to have it.

Dresses for women offered at certain percentage discounts may sound like a great idea, but if you really search online you can find numerous sites which have other coupon codes that may offer better benefits. For instance; free shipping. If you're buying many dresses, the shipping can add up, however, a coupon code for free shipping if you spend a certain amount, well that's way better than saving a few percentages on your purchase. In this scenario do the math before you decide which coupon code to use. Don't be afraid to look for coupon codes wherever possible. Think the store doesn't appreciate coupon codes? Think again. A happy customer comes back to shop more. And if you've been treated well, do go back and shop more.

How to Save Money Buying Evening Dresses For Women or Casual Dresses For Women

Hands down I haven't found a better spot for evening dresses for women than Amazon. At least not when you take into account the different savings offers, but they don't have the most massive selection in the world. Don't get me wrong, they have an incredible selection and I have found so many dresses there that I live and breathe in that shop, that means I tend to toot their horn a lot. That's OK, I'm very comfortable tooting a horn that deserves it. I'll go over the bonuses of shopping at Amazon first. Amazon is more like a middleman for many many many.. (am I being too subtle?).. many shops on the Internet. When I say many I mean even Target and Macy's sell their products on Amazon. Not only do these shops sell their merchandise, they specifically select merchandise which is usually at deep deep discounts. Closeout products, past season products etc. Bottom line is that they are top quality dresses that you usually find on that 75% off racks at department stores, only pretty much every department store is in one spot.

You are going to get rock bottom prices on this site. So shopping at Amazon is going to save you money on any evening dress or casual dress you want. But you may not find a lot of designer styles. That is the drawback of Amazon. While there are some designer dresses, there isn't a whole lot of choice. I'd like to put another drawback here, but I can't.

I will say that maybe you think I'm touting Amazon so hard because they make me money, but that isn't the case. If you read down on my plus size dresses for women, I have a better store to buy, which I make no money touting. I'm gonna toot their horn anyhow because they are the best store for the big girls (like me).

Save Money Buying Dresses for Plus Women

OK not a lotta cheap shops for dresses for plus women out there. While I spend a lot of money online at Amazon, I don't find that many plus size dresses, that I like, there. I do find a few, at some really freaking awesome prices too, but quite honestly the best shop to save money is at Avenue and its subsidiaries. I do so wish they'd accept me in their affiliate program. I've spent more money there than I care to share on the Internet. They have the most awesome prices. Like WOW prices for plus sizes. If anyone has any other sites, I'd be curious to know. Frankly, even though I love Avenue and Onestopplus.com, if there are even cheaper or better shops, I'd like to hear it. They have fast delivery, their service is impeccable, their selections are vast (if you check all their subsidiary sites), and best of all their prices are unbe-freaking-lievable!

You can find lots of coupon codes for their sites as well. Keep an eye out or just do a Google search for Avenue.com, Onestopplus.com coupon codes.
