Drew Barrymore made the big announcement on Oprah Winfrey Show that she will be donating $1 million for the charity organization that helps feed poor school children in Africa.
Actress Drew Barrymore has experienced poverty in Africa during her visits there and wants to make a difference by helping the poor children. She will donate $1 million to World Food Program (WFP) charity organization to feed the hungry school children.
She talked about this program to People magazine: "I have seen with my own eyes what a difference a simple cup of nutritious porridge can make in a child's life…It helps them learn, stay healthy and sets them on track for a bright future." She has worked with World Food Program since 2005 and became an Ambassador Against Hunger last year. She has been to Kenya twice to oversee their programs. Josette Sheeran, WFP Executive Director, who was also present with Drew Barrymore at the Oprah Winfrey's show, said they have a dream to feed 10 million school children by Thanksgiving day. I hope they fulfill her dream. If you are interested you can donate it here. A $50 donation will feed one child’s cup of porridge for a year. It takes about 25 cents to fill one of the WFP cup used to feed the school children.Share it! — Rate it: up down [flag this hub]

Go Drew. If all the Hollywood crowd would help that much (in other countries, too) the world would be a better place (maybe). But good for her. She's putting her money where her mouth is.
