IDIOT's Guide To Drivers Permit Must Know Tips

Drivers Permit Must Read (Shocking Tips)

OK, I am going to fill you in on the basics of your drivers permit.  The long drawn out lecture about the dangers and responsibilities of driving, I will leave that to somebody closer to you, though I will ask that you decide to not be an idiot (a car is not a bicycle) . When you first start out driving, you will need to get some practice before being sent out on the roads all by yourself. The first step is to apply for a permit.  Each state has their own requirements for getting a permit (available at your DMV).  Then, once you have your learners permit, you are ready to hit the roads, but WAIT!  Ouch! What about the cost?  Enter Your Zip Code Here Finds Best Drivers Permit Quotes (FREE)

Now, you are all set to get behind the wheel.  This is cool, and a little scary at times, I mean, you are now finally in the driver's seat. Part of most drivers permit laws come with them a list of driving restrictions.  These can vary from state to state and deal with issues such as hours of driving, and number of adult passengers required to accompany you while learning to drive.  Hopefully you will be given some driving instructions on how to drive at night, as this is a prime time for accidents.  No matter how you cut, slice or dice it; driving at night time is more dangerous than during the day, for the simple fact that your distance of sight is limited, thus giving you less time to react to conditions on the road.

Once you have some driving time under your belt, you will want to study the drivers instruction guide before taking the test.  In here you will want to study road signs and various other road hazard warnings.  You will also want to study this test like none other, it really sucks to take your driver's test and fail.  Friends have a way of reminding you that you are the 'baby' that still hasn't passed your test and still only has a drivers permit.  Parents are also more likely to have faith in letting the keys out of their hands and into your hands if you are a 'good driver'.  Think, do not drink and drive. (That's part of not being an 'idiot', from above)

Part of having a drivers permit comes another unknown into your life.  Bills.  Up until now, most teens have not paid rent, and the idea of a job has been baby-sitting or mowing a lawn, or some other chores around the house.  Let's face it, you do not know what you do not know. Know this, cars are expensive.  Have you seen the price of gas? How about the car itself?  Now here is a major kick in the pants, insurance.  The reality is if you want to drive, stop being a baby.  What does that mean? It means you must conform to some of societies responsibility requirements without having your parents do everything for you (some parents will do this for you, cool, you should at least know what the expense is, otherwise, you are just being an idiot), and you know how I feel about idiots.  The best drivers permit insurance can be found ABOVE HERE, simply enter your zip code and find the cheapest deal nearest you!

Kimberly~ We can all relate to that picture, though it's not always that obvious...Put a bag of hot french fries near me while driving and my favorite song just happens to come on the radio at the moment I'm stuffing my face...it's not a pretty sight! Though to her credit (in the photo) her eyes are on the road! Most silly accidents come from not paying enough attention...Thanks for the feedback..

Great hub Lee. Yes it is really crazy how each state has their own rules about the learners permit. It is scary and dangers out there with someone with learners permit. I think more should be done. I remember when I got my drivers permit sometime back in the state of Maryland. I sure pass the learners test with no problem, but was the worst learner when I was back on the wheel. Good thing is did not cause any accident. Very nice hub.

Hi Leop,

I think we have all got at least one scary learning experience from behind the wheel. I know I did have an accident....between me and a curb. The curb won. Good thing for the insurance, NOT...I did not have the coverage...that's why I encourage everyone to check on the free quote finder I provided everyone in the article...I saves money...Thanks again,
