So you go online and type in wholesale dropshipper. Here we go, there are over 1.6 million results and every one of them is claiming that you are about to make profits beyond your wildest dreams. So are they scams or are they actually worth your time.

Well they are certainly not all scams and a fair number of them are legitimate companies. That does not mean that they are dropshippers though. Finding a wholesale distributor that is willing to dropship products for you requires a lot of effort. Most of the companies that you will find online are going to be middlemen.

Some of the ways to identify these middleman companies are one time fees to set up your account or monthly membership fees. Usually the request for you to fork over some cash will be followed by a statement like this. Requiring a monthly fee helps us ensure that only those serious about building their own business join and makes it possible to maintain the low prices that we offer. This is pretty much a gaurantee that you are about to lose some money.

This does not mean that all you have to do is a find a website that is offering their services for free and you have struck gold. There are plenty of these sites that are free but the cost of the products is frequently so high that you cannot make a profit. If you want to sell on a platform like Ebay then you have to remember listing and final value fees and most people use Paypal which incurs it’s own fees. If you can only sell a product for a few dollars more than what you have to pay then the only people making money will be Ebay and the so called dropshipper.

Another thing to keep in mind before trying a dropshipping service is this. If you are using Ebay then your feedback rating is extremely important to your potential customer. If you affiliate yourself with an unreliable dropshipper then you will start receiving negative feedback. The more negative feedback you receive then the less anyone will trust you and the harder it will get to make any sells in the first place.

A lot of people end up starting off with these dropshipping services but I feel it is important to realize that most of these are not distributors. They are middlemen that sometimes do not even have a warehouse. What they do have is access to an actual dropshipper and the price that you will have to pay just moved that much closer to retail. While some people have used these services to turn a profit you should do your research thoroughly because it is your reputation at stake.

If you have considered trying out a drop shipping program as a way to make money online then I would like to give you a warning about it first. Please take a minute to check out my page about drop shipping and hear about my own personal experiences with it. I have some information that you need to know before wasting your hard earned money.
