The most effective technique for drug and alcohol rehab

It's well known that the best option for treatment of drug and alcohol addiction is a residential treatment program.  The main downsides of residental treatment programs are that they can be very expensive, and that they require full-time commitment and are therefore not usually compatible with most jobs or school programs.  The upside is that you will be someplace new where you have nothing but time to focus on your addiction and how to surpass it.  Most facilities will have a dedicated team of specialists who can craft a special program to help you achieve your post-addiction goals.

Types of Drug Rehab Facilities

There are several types of specialized drug treatment facilities.  Some treatment facilities specialize in treatment of specific addictions such as alcohol, heroin, or meth.  Others are designed around certain beliefs such as the common Christian Drug Rehab centers.  Still others may be focused on a particular age or demographic group such as teens, seniors, etc.

Alternatives to Residential Treatment Centers

If you don't have the time or funds for a residential treatment center for your addiction, don't worry - there are more affordable alternatives.  One common alternative is to join your local meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous.  These are meant to be informal and anonymous meetings of people coping with similar addictions.  While these types of meetings require more commitment than a residential treatment center, they can be very effective if you commit and keep focus.
